Thanks! I'm hosting it on a $5/month digitalocean droplet.

Also quick update: edited and published the blogpost I mentioned in my previous post.

i am also learning python and flesk too currently using wp-automatic to automate my blogs but it will better to write code own cms then wordpress or soemthing else

Dealing with some more annoying parts of development, really hope I can finish this annoying stuff soon as it's absolutely draining me lol. Good part is that I currently have quite a bit of time for this project

No big SERP movements recently, still slowly trying to push onto the third page. Making good progress on development stuff, aside from minor bugs I need to take care off I think I could finally go all in on marketing. I kind of need to do so too, as in 2.5 months I'll be done with university and my family wants me to get a job lol. If I can bring in some money with this they hopefully won't bother me with that crap

Google rankings have been stagnating around the top of page 4/bottom of page 3. I think now is the time to work hard on getting guest posts. I think those are the most powerful SEO strategy anyways, so I think I'll just do that until I'm high up on page 1 haha.

Step 1 will be finding sites to guest post on.
In Step 2 I think I'll hire a VA to manually visit the site, find the name and some information about the blog author and his email. That way I can personalize my outreach email a lot and hopefully achieve a good response rate.
As Step 3 I'll send the personalized email and ask for a guest post. Additionally, I think I'll offer them part of my service for free for a couple months in exchange. Might be able to simply offer them my product for free in exchange for a review on their blog, that way I don't even have to provide an article haha. I'm not very creative when it comes to thinking about article topics in my tiny niche.

Let me know if you have any ideas on how to improve this approach and how you usually find sites for guest posting

Thanks a ton! Yea I hope so too But I have 2 months still before I really want to be profitable.

I did a bunch more bug fixing and improvements on some important features of my product. Now I just need to wait for 2 things to finish to test my basically final product (for now). Once that's done I can really take on orders I think. Also did some minor work on my website in the meantime.
Yesterday I wrote a blog post comparing the most popular providers of my product (obviously my service is the best ). Looking to go over that again today and publish it too.
Today I'll also contact a VA to collect a list of guest posting sites for me. I'll instruct him to get the emails and some personalized info of the sites so my cold email outreach will be as personalized as possible. This will really drive up the response rates. I will report back on how the VA did and how the outreach worked once I've sent some emails

Pretty hyped that I'm finally getting the product to a state I'm happy with!

Did more work on the product (e.g. finally added a feature so I can disable user accounts if they stop paying lol). Also translated my entire website to spanish (mostly automatically), will probably have to hire someone one day to clean up those translations. Will be interesting to see whether this helps me get more authority in googles eyes as my rankings are still stuck below rank 30:



If not, I guess I'll have to wait for the guest posts to come in. Currently waiting on the VA to collect emails + names etc so I can message these webmasters.

However, your technical expertise and/or motivated attitude towards this project lets me feel like this might be a good shot! I wish you the best of luck on your journey

May I ask which programming languages you're able to code in? I suppose Python (due to Flask)?

Thanks! Yea I use python (+ html, css, minimal js) for the website part. Also training an AI with tensorflow, so that's python too. There's some more stuff to it but maybe I'll talk about that when I reveal what my product is (will probably only do that if I decide to sell it here on BHW too haha).

If you meant which programming languages I've used before, thats quite a long list, here's all that I can think of right now that I have some experience with (more than just 1 tiny project lol):
Java (since 2015, actually started with MC stuff like you also mentioned in your introduction but also developed a bunch of Android apps)
Python (started before Java, but just picked it back up a year ago)
C# (1 university project over the entire semester, an app using xamarin)
Dart (A few projects, mostly Flutter which is also app development)
Html, Css, Js (This SaaS and 1 other website)
C (had to use it in lots of lectures, never grew fond of it though)
Haskell (for a university lecture, good for theoretical concepts, less useful in practice imo)
Prolog (same as haskell)
SQL (also from university and a tiny bit in projects where i needed a db)

Sounds like a lot but to be honest, once you know one language decently well, you can easily learn new ones because many are very similar (e.g. Java, C#, Dart) and you already know all the important concepts. Haskell and Prolog are a bit different in this regard, which is why we had to learn those in university. Haskell is a functional language, which (to simplify it) means that there's no variables. And Prolog is logical programming, where you only program by specifying rules. When you execute the program, it searches for values that fulfill all the rules you set. Interesting concepts once you understand it, but not too useful

Anyways... Not much progress on the Saas since my last update. Serps are still stuck below page 3 and I'm still waiting on stuff Spent 2 days working on a tiny feature that was incredibly hard to add somehow, but stubborn as I am I didn't give up and semi-wasted 2 days on it. At least now I have a decent implementation of it, even though it's not optimal.

Google rankings are still stuck, guest posting outreach is not ready yet. Worked on a bunch of other stuff though. Interestingly I'm getting a ton of clicks from baidu right now lol. More than google actually, but i dont know why. My site isn't translated to chinese or anything, so it's quite surprising. I'll just take it and consider adding a chinese translation in the future

Big update: My product is finally ready! Man, if I knew that it'd be this much work I dont know if I wouldve ever started in december haha. But I'm so glad I did. Anyways, not much I can say about what i did on the product.

Google average rankings are still improving slowly, but my best rankings aren't, still just below page 3 Still waiting on my VA to prepare my outreach list, but I think I might need to hire a different one, looks like he doesn't have time.

I've found some small issues (mostly translations) on my website that I'll need to take care of. But I will now also reach out to everyone that requested a free demo of my product and see if they're still interested and show it to them if yes. I didn't do that previously because it seemed like many of them weren't too interested in the product (didn't respond to me) and it wouldve been quite a bit of work for me to prepare the product for them. I'll also consider reaching out to people that left bad reviews on competitors products and asking them what went wrong and offer them my product at a discount.

Basically I want to fulfill a few orders to see how much work it'll be for me and whether everything goes smoothly. If everything goes well in those "test runs" I could do a ProductHunt launch and other stuff that could potentially attract quite a few customers.

Kinda nervous but also excited I feel like I'm quite close to making some profit now.

He knows what he is talking about, the links are monthly rentals, but worth the price.

Thanks for the recommendation, that service does look good indeed. Actually just today 2 keywords finally moved to 29, so maybe I've broken the magical barrier
Either way I wanna try a few guest posts first, but that will take a bit longer. If I can't get significant improvements with those, I'll definitely try this pbn.


Apart from that I found an issue in my product that's going to be quite annoying to fix properly. It's related to something that's given me trouble many times before, so I don't want to put another bandaid on it but rather fix it properly. I hope I can find a good solution for that.
Also went over some page descriptions and titles and improved them a bit.

I think I've climbed to page 3 successfully now, 4 keywords have been slowly but surely moving upwards and are now on position 27. Also, my search traffic has been increasing steadily. Nothing huge yet, but as long as there's growth I know I'm on the right track

The product issue I mentioned was indeed really annoying. It took me 2 days to just get any clue on how I could tackle it and now I've finally sorted out most of it (had to recreate a lot of my old code to work with it). But it actually led to better product, just the performance got a bit worse. I'll need to see what I can do about that.

Anyways, still waiting on my VA for the guest posts... But it's alright, I'll probably have to spend the next 2 weeks working exclusively on university stuff anyways, as I've neglected that Have an exam & need to write my bachelor's thesis, so quite a lot to do.

Well well guys, its been a long 2 weeks but I can FINALLY come back to this project!

Isn't that crazy? Maybe it's a google update or google finally realized that I have the best product
