I think you just need to immerse yourself within the community and think like a moderator would.
Reporting threads and noticing things that need to be moderated like moving posts you think are in the wrong section etc.
There probably isn't a course for something like this.

Those are the things we already know, probably 90% members know the basic duties of Moderator.
I am thinking to learn more like a professional manner.
Yeah I know but professionalism probably just comes with experience.
I mean pretty much all a moderator course would be would a list of things to look out for.

Yep that's right experience is key and I am assuming that to follow, watch and learn there moves.
I am yet to hear from any of the moderator over this subject. Waiting few MODs will post there views over here.

See how mods react on different threads.
Than after some time you can apply to become a moderator and Staff will decide on that.

Do this first and post another thread after you have 5k posts under your belt.
A moderator is someone who is online most of the time and keeps an eye on all the posts and threads being posted. If you want to take the hitchhikers route, stay online all the time and report all the spam threads. Then set up an alarm clock and wake up every 1 hour while you're sleeping so you can keep the forum out of spammers. You should also take your laptop to your bathroom and take a shower with one eye always open and on your screen. You should learn to eat with fork and spoon so you can react immediately during an emergency situation because the forum will blow up if you take time to go and wash your hands.
Being a Moderator is not an easy task and definitely not for someone who rarely visits the forum a few months per year.
You posted this thread in the Download Requests section but it belongs to the Lounge and now we need a from BHW Mod to move it to The Lounge. If you can't even post in the proper section, how can you expect to become a Mod?

I think you can operate through Android Phone. Laptop is not must.

I said I want to learn the Moderator duties but not now to become. Yes its not very busy job and need mature brain filled with experience.
The reason I posted in download section as I guessed there would be some course on this subject and I might get here for free or least I expected was everyone's views and guidelines specially by Mod's on this subject.

Well, I did write a 33 chapter handbook for moderators, but this is only available to MiTs and above here on BHW.
Most members only see what's available on the public side of the forum. For instance, there are a lot of moderator-specific policies that most forums, including this one, do not disclose to the members.

It depends. When I was 15 I used to post on a bb forum and I got in to an argument with a mod over healthy eating. He said he knows where I live and was going to fucking kill me. I got banned.
Then I got a warning message from ISP via post saying they will revoke service if they get another complaint for spam and offensive message, from these fuckers. Any insults were not one way traffic. And I only tried signing up for a second account. They forgot to tell ISP that.
Based on this I would say, depends on the forum. If it's something crappy like that then probably based on who has the fewest brain cells. Somewhere like this would probably require you be quite patient and diligent, I suppose.

Best way to learn how to be a Moderator is to follow Mods that you respect.
I did that when I was a Moderator in training and still do it to this day and it's been 3 or 4 years since I became one here.
I even made a post in the staff forum about that back when we had some moderators in training and I'll stand by that as that is a normal business practice. Learn from those in place and emulate them and their actions.
Forget a book, website, tea leaves, learn from those that have done it or are doing it.

Yes. My intention is not to be a moderator and or do that Job for money or so. But to learn and possess the knowledge and wisdom they got and be like one of them or may be close to them. Like its kind of passion of being in that profession.
One thing I learned so far is criticism is a gift that you get for free. As you will come to know your negatives and remove them.
