I saw a website when i start the audit of the website. ahref showing that this website's keywords are ranking in other countries and these keywords has a good search volume. But the business provide there services only in India. what should i do in this condition how rank for those keywords in India

That's actually quite normal.

For instance, consider the former Yugoslavia.

Today, the people who used to live there are now spread across five, six, or even seven different countries.

Additionally, over five million people from that region now live abroad, scattered all over the world.

So, if my site starts ranking well for a few solid keywords, it could potentially rank in 50 different countries.

This happens because the IP addresses show that these keywords are being searched for in multiple countries.

Of course, depends on the keyword, but mostly the main ones have the most searches in my main countries, but anyway, I'm ranking in 50 different ones.

Hope this helps you out.

might be you can try to optimize local SEO, like using geographically specific keywords and creating location specific pages

Because imo it works with language more than location if the website is in Hindi then those keywords can be searched by the diaspora.

Localizing your content and keywords, set your geographic target to India in Google Search Console, and optimize for local searches by acquiring backlinks from Indian sites and using local business listings. If this is already done or doesn't work, you can try Indian advertising companies.

We catched an algo penalty it seems

It appears to apply to German speaking countries DE, AT, CH (site is German)

However, in the US our rankings and traffic keep growing

Which further confirms that we are being held back by a firm glass ceiling that Google has deployed for us in our main markets

It is normal that some keywords rank in different countries - this is completly normal. In ahrefs, you can switch the country and see the data for your prefered country. However, if the majority of keywords rank in the wrong country, then there might be a problem. In that case, the best thing you can do is to localize your content, meaning that you should include geo relevant language into the content. For instead of using topics like best cleaning services, use best cleaning services in india etc. The more pieces of content you have like this, the more google will rank your site in that country.

Try to foucs on local seo with location specific keywords,

It happens on all websites and it is normal though. You can try using geo targetted keywords, local directory submissions, and adding backlinks from country specific domains to increase the local rankings.

Use Google Search Console's geo-targeting feature and build local citations. It's crucial to align your site's signals with India's search intent.

Do some location based backlink also focus on your content. It will be solved

As suggested, use Indian-specific keywords, build backlinks from Indian websites, and set your target location to India in Google Search Console.
