Okay, so I see that everyone Has these complicated and elaborate ways of doing keyword research and I just want to understand why? I've never actually successfully made a website before so my keyword research strategy consisted of using google keyword planner thinking of a few words in my niche then sorting the keyword results (low competition / High bid keywords) that's pretty much it am I just not thinking hard enough will I just fail miserably what don't I know? If I create articles using these keywords will they rank? I know that the articles need to be longer (at least 1500 words) and I know I need to interlink and I know about content pillars but do you guys think I need to refine the way I do keyword research and if so how would I do that? I need at least 500 keywords and I couldn't think of any other way to get a bunch of low competition keywords fast but if the articles aren't gonna rank then this is just a waste of time I wanna succeed in this time I wanna do it right I spent a lot of time on this forum and I've made a few sites they all failed because I wasn't trying hard enough I also have Scrapebox if that helps. the goal is to get at least 500 low-competition keywords that I can use to create articles before the day ends.

Also, I wanted to create articles that instantly rank after posting them to a brand new site so that's why I chose to do it this way but again is this logical? will this work?

New articles on a brand new site that instantly rank? Not possible. Unless you have an already established authority site(a website you built that is multiple years old with a lot of established content & backlinks) then no content you post will instantly rank.

Low competition, and I mean LOW, even take a few weeks to be indexed & climb to the first page.

I know that I listened to a podcast I forget which one but they were saying to target keywords with like 10 search volume for brand new sites which is what I did my plan is to create articles for a bunch of these extremely low keywords but the way I did it just feels too easy am I just in my own head? (that happens to me a lot so I wouldn't be surprised) I have a lot more planned than just posting 500 articles with extremely low competition but I just wanna know if my keyword research strategy is right at the same time is there a wrong way to do it?

Its a good way to get a brand new site started and “introduce” said new site to the SERPs. Though, I would say that it’s a bit of overkill with 500 articles for those low competition keywords.

The keyword competition from keyword planner is PPC competition very different from the SEO competition.

Easiest time saving approach is using tools Ahrefs, Semrush etc.......
Don't blindly trust the SEO metrics though specifically the Keyword Difficulty in this case.

But if you know/learn about SEO competition analysis using SERP that will be better.

You can always search for weak websites in you niche that are either ranking or not ranking.
Reverse engineer their overall site profile to get profitable keywords.

And yes try to group & organise keywords into groups based around the core topic.
This will make your article structured & more relevant to the topic.

There are some good niche & keyword research methods shared on the forum.
Always the best resource.

it's 500 because the articles aren't just for SEO

thanks so much for the save I knew something was off lol

Instead of using the google keyword planner, use Ahref or Semrush. These two tools will help you find out SEO keywords. Personally, I use Google keyword planner for PPC.

Check the marketplace misc section for Semrush trial accounts.

Other tool or not bad but don't match the top 2, like:
Serpstat
Moz

what about longtail pro?

what about longtail pro?
That's specifically a keyword research tool.
My suggestion was around those tools that can give out lot's of keywords for specific websites (Weak ones) that are already ranking in google.

Keeping the price factor in mind Semrush trial is the best option I will suggest.
It has all tools you will need to start a web content project Backlinks, Keywords......

If the keyword research is done very well and you find low hanging fruits, it can rank also.

If keyword research confounds and confuses you, here's a shortcut.

It's quick, it's dirty, and it works.

What I'm talking about is reverse-engineering your competition.

As long as you're clear about the niche that you are targeting with your website, find all competing sites for that niche.

By competing site, I'm talking about a site that is totally dedicated to that niche.

I'm not talking about a site that just has a few articles that rank well for that niche.

I'm talking about a site that is fully dedicated to that niche.

Come up with a list of their domain names and enter their domain names into a paid SEO tool like SEMrush or Ahrefs.

These tools will let you know which keywords those sites trigger that are easier to rank for.

These are lower-difficulty keywords.

Cross-reference this information with the projected monthly search volume of those keywords.

The next step is to load those keywords one by one into Google and pay close attention to the results.

Are these results the kind of results your target audience members would be looking for?

Filter by search intent.

Once you've done all this filtration, you can then start creating content that blows away your competition.

How can you be so sure?

Well, first of all, you're going to use content optimization tools like Surfer SEO or SEMrush.

Next, you are going to test your content in terms of basic quality guidelines.

Is it more up-to-date?

Does it have pictures and videos?

Is it easy to scan?

Is it easy to understand?

Is it emotionally engaging?

Is it obviously written for flesh-and-blood human beings instead of Googlebot?

If the answer is all yes, then you have yourself content that can make it.

Fill your site with at least a hundred of these types of posts.

By ranking for easier-to-rank keywords, you build domain authority sooner rather than later.

Once you start seeing more organic traffic at least at the 6-month mark or at the 9-month mark, start targeting more competitive keywords in your niche.

That's how you play the game without knowing the "golden keywords" coming in.

This reverse-engineering technique enables you to get a headstart.
