Keyword Research the BTB Way

Thanz Bass for the share.As being a man with true IM skill,you make all your posts delightful.
The word "Life experience" that you mentioned I guess aptly suits for IM.
I too Believe in the researching Keywords in a much similar way as yours with Adword Keyword tool.I don't Think from an IMer point of view but by being a simple internet surfer.If I am a searching internet what are the basis possibilities that I will look for and when searching for Keyword I question myself that If I am to look for a thing that what I might be tying on the search box to achieve my goal.This I can relate with Life experience.

Thanks for the great tutorial.

I have a quick newbie question:

When you rank the KW's for competition, why do you want the competition to be below .80?

It seems like since it's on adwords, high competition means a high amount of advertisers competing to advertise the word. That seems like a good thing.

Essentially I choose not to go after that level of competition because there is so much low hanging fruit it makes no sense to me... get the easy stuff and build on that.

Don't over work for tough KWs when you can get a lot of others without breakding your back.

Also, I don't always monetize my sites using adsense (there are a lot of alternatives and you should spread around your revenue streams), so although the adsense revenue is going to be higher, so is the level of competition to rank for that extra buck.

This is a good advice for KW searching. It makes sense that internet marketers should build contents based on good keywords.

Good keywords--->Unique contents--->Quality links--->Better ranking--->Decent money--->IM business.

Even KW is not the corner stone, it is the foundation at least.
 
Just wondering what the reason for this is. Isn't this the same as having a sitemap.html page?

All submitted on the main page and truncated so you have to go to their own page to read the complete article and all with a link from a separate page that has a list of all the KWs... I generally name that page Main Content - Types or Causes or Facts... something that works with that particular niche.

I have been using this method from pass 2 days i have noticed few things I'm not sure if everyone has this..if i don't sign up with adwords i get only 100 results if i sign up i get 800 i have 147 keywords from wiki, other websites it will process only 100 keywords rest 47 just sits there and it gives me 800 results but if i put 10 keywords i still get 800 results? :|

and my question to BTB - Searches are in Exact or Broad ? when you say delete anything above 800..800 Global monthly searches or Local monthly searches..i was going with local then i couldn't resist confirming.
 
Greg is using broad for this (correct me if I'm wron, Greg) and if you enter in a filter like "all local searches greater than or equal to 1500" first and then search again with "all local searches less than or equal to 1499" (Greg uses local because he targets the united states for his sites). Alot of times you can get more than just 800 keyword results from 1 keyword phrase. Depends on the keyword though.

BTB, do you add BOTH amazon links and Adsense to all your sites?

I just started using Amazon, and decided to use the aStore widget right away instead of just plain, contextual links. Can you comment on this?

I do not; depending on what I am targeting for my site I may only have one kind of monetization method on it.

A-stores can do real well for you if you have the right product.... think impulse purchase when you set them up as the cookie is but 24 hours.

Alright, generally does Amazon earn you more than Adsense? I'm getting about ~$6 for a site that got around 400 visitors yesterday.

Greg, thanks for clearing this up via email but I just got on adwords today to try my hand at this. Why am I not seeing an actual number such as .80 in regards to competition? All I see is the green bar indicating level of competition.
