If we have luck to find correct user email address is not all. That user cannot have more than one installation on his PC.
On hxxp://www*bradcallen*com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=6170 you can find a QUOTE FROM KE FAQ
Keyword Elite may be installed on 2 computers per license. To install on another computer, all you'll need to do is re-download Keyword Elite from the download page. Then install it on your new computer. You'll then be prompted to register the software again, and you will see the screen shown below:
Note, if you enter an invalid email address, OR you have already installed Keyword Elite on 2 computers at some point, you will see these two messages after trying to register:
Then when you click "ok", you'll see this message, which simply means that the email address you entered is not valid.
Because at start KE is contacting one of brads servers it would say you a word if the install isnt correct or if more than the allowed copies of KE are running.
Brad can prevent to run a unauthorized copy...

The distinction here and the resulting confusion with the "free lifetime updates" is that it is not clearly specified as being per "VERSION".
i.e.
"free lifetime updates" for v1.
"upgrade discount" from v1 to v2
"update" refers to the VERSION while "UPGRADE" refers to the entire program.

popzzz I understand your post but I bought it with the assumption that I would never have to pay for an upgrade/update/version ever again. The wording is misleading. Also does this mean that V1 will not be updated or supported anymore? If that's the case, then owners of V1 will be forced to purchase the newest version. Luckily I already own Market Samurai so I will not be purchasing from Brad Callen anymore.
Anyway here is the reply I received from the help desk after I emailed them with my complaint.
Current KE 1.0 users will get a very large discount that non KE users will not receive.
Our Software "updates/upgrades" are completely free, which include bug fixes & feature enhancements.
Keyword Elite 2.0 is a New Software, it is not a new version, update or upgrade. It won't merge with KE 1.0
If you are a current user, you will receive a very large discount, via this coupon code at launch.

If it is a "new" software, WHY does it have the same name?
Seems he's trying to worm out of his deal to me .....
The update/upgrade syndrome has plagued users for years with no obvious solution here either apparently.
Makes you feel all warm and fuzzy DON'T it knowing you are a "current" user and so are ENTITLED to your "large discount" .....
Ludicrous at best!
I am a legit owner of v1 and now feel properly F*CKED by Brad Callen! Think I own some of his others as well .....

As far as the newest version, here's where I'm at so far and I'm wondering if someone could PM me a single, valid, working email address. If so, I can post a crack for all. Here's why:
1) The software attempts to access hxxp://www.keywordelite.com/admin/check_license.php (the actual URL attaches the email, serial, and version number as in [email protected])
2) This is easy to overcome by adding the following line to your hosts file:
127.0.0.1 http://www.keywordelite.com
Then just run easyphp, create a directory called admin within your easyphp website, and create a file called check_license.php.
3) All I need is to capture the output from the server for a valid email, and put this into check_license.php. Then we have a working solution for all future updates that I will post here to BHW. For an invalid email, the output from Brad's server is:
<license><status>not found</status><status>expired</status></license>

2.0.18 version is registering to any email address. But this version is not working for Adwords Timemachine function. Can't you use that response message to apply to 2.0.19 which latest version?.

Someone's going to need to do an actual crack on this. The license response returned when a valid key is entered includes a serial number, which is based on a combination of your email and serial, which I can't seem to find or modify in the registry or on disk. Basically, we've got to modify the actual .exe.

Now you know how I feel. I emailed them again and asked if they will still support v1 and they said yes. But I'm guessing it will come to a point where it won't be supported anymore. They will put all of their effort into the newest version.

it's not that hard to find. Here's tip for you guys..and run with this quick before someone else does..it's how I found mine:
Go to the keyword elite forums. Find a user name. Type that username into google and add email to the query. Start backtracking. You'll find an email. Took me not even 5 minutes.

Well, here's a pseudo-crack for KE 2.0 if the emails you guys are finding happen to get deactivated or whatever. Please note that this will deactivate KE's access to brad's servers, which takes away the "Adwords Time Machine" feature and the "cpa magnet" features. Thanks to the people who PMd me and helped, especially to blackhaze for helping me realize the base 64 encoding hurdle. :tee:
1) Download the latest version
2) Start up your favorite local web server software. I like easyphp - it's easy . Go to your web documents main directory and create a directory called "admin". No quotes, obviously.
3) In the admin directory, create a file called "check_license.php", and put this into that file (be careful not to put blank lines, etc before or after this - ONLY put this code):
4) Add the following line to your HOSTS file (normally located in C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\):
5) Startup keyword elite. Put any email in. It will work and will never phone home or be deactivated.
This software is nice, even without the adwords time machine.
