Does anybody know a way of keeping your idea safe when getting a website designed, or is it just a matter of trust?

Thanks

Its can only happen when you complete your website in house. Otherwise not possible

just make sure you hire someone who works as a website developer.
They see ideas day and day out, so it's unlikely they are going to give up their job to enter your niche.

Same level of trust as you put in with graphic designers, content writers, seo services, etc, etc, etc basically anything you outsource.

Once the website is live anyone could steal the idea anyway... You just get a month or two (at best) to get a head start on them.

There are literally teams in Russia who purely copy USA/UK based start ups and build them in Russian. By the time the UK/USA company is ready to enter Russia they already have a huge userbase and they have a problem doing it.

Sorry for the late reply, Thanks for all the feedback....

I'm a little anxious as to if NDA forms or Non Compete Agreement forms work, have many web designers heard of them?

Its funny, I heard about a guy who was doing essentially the same thing somewhere like Bulgaria or Turkey. Apparently it's HUGE business.

I think you will get these copycats in any non-English market :)

We probably have people doing the same in our English markets.
