So last week I put up 4 autoblogs using wprobot along with the genesis/streamline theme combo. The domain names are decent as far as exact keyword searches (anywhere from 2,000 - 6,000 exact searches). I'm mainly doing RSS feed campaigns on wprobot. I haven't really done any SEO (except for on-site stuff like meta tags etc). My question is am I too late to get in on these? Has the bus already left? Is G done ranking these types of sites? If there is any hope of these sites what types of SEO have worked? I've been writing a few articles with a couple anchored keywords and putting them on other sites but that's it so far.... any suggestions? or should I give up with these?

what you are doing is not perfect,

the idea of auto-blogs is to have a lot of them and atleast spinnend (check out the spinner in BST section)

Set them up and add a Wordpress Plugin for UAW. UAW also integrates with Blogger.

If you ask me, autoblogs are good for link juice and backlinks and that's it. I know most of you will say otherwise, but that's my opinion.

Try focusing on a normal legit blog with unique content. Autoblogs may seem good because they require less effort than legitimate blogs, but eventually Big G will get on you. Plus, like stated above, you need to have several autoblogs just to make as much money as if you were to focus on 1-2 legitimate blogs.

Just my 2 cents :)

I have 2 legit blogs (legit meaning I just have the postrunner plugin and people submit "unique" content of 300 words or more regarding my blog subject which I then publish) they generate a combined total of 50 cents a day in adsense which isn't worth it. Maybe I'm doing something wrong there as well?

Hmm... It's probably your content or niche. It may be unique, but make sure the On Page SEO is good (Proper Formatting, good keyword density) and that your niche isn't too competitive.

For On Page SEO (Proper Post Formatting), I'd recommend the Easy WP SEO wordpress plugin, and the All in One SEO plugin. Get them. Why? Cause I have no backlinks to my site whatsoever (probably 2-5 maybe), but my On Page SEO is good enough that most of the articles I post are ranking in position #1-5 and all of my posts are at least at page 2 and higher.

In the end, I believe that Unique Content is King.

I've been using the wp plugin "all in one seo pack" which basically just lets me establish meta tags for each post and page. But ya it might just be the niche I'm in. I have adwords posted in the top left of every post, any suggestions on where the optimal place is for adsense?

I've read that it is important to use robot.txt or htaccess file to stop google going in your plugins folder and seeing that you are using wprobot. Don't know if that's true, perhaps someone more experienced with wprobot could confirm.

For adsense, I would recommend putting them in the middle of your posts. I use "Quick Adsense" to do this automatically. The best part about embedding the ads in the middle of your posts is that the visitor will have a lesser chance of being ad blind!

I'm no expert, but I tell people what worked for me :)

I started a few autoblogs a month or so ago too. I think I've got about 15 so far, each with it's own IP address. I too am using WP ROBOT and some other auto SEO tools..

I've got Clickbank in URL cloaked with destination URL somewhere like this on my site /clickbank_product

I'm getting around 100 hops a day with not a single sales page impression.

I've also got CPC ads on each site, nothing.

I'm going to continue to persue and tweak, but I think you're right, this opp may have been and gone.

davidbobby, I have a postrunner site too and it was my first start in autoblogging. Mine pulls in $200-$300 a month, not a ton, but I think it's more than a lot of people are making with theirs. I do custom SEO for each post I receive, about 3-5 a day.

My advice is to figure out a way to make money with your Postrunner site and then apply the same method to autoblogging. If you can only make $0.50 a day with Postrunner then I imagine you will only make pennies with a wp-robot autoblog.

If you have the content from rss feeds that will never go old and relates to niches like entertainment then its good to have such blogs. I know many sites which are just run on rss feeds from other sites and have 300 - 200 alexa rankings. In the beginning it may seem that these posts are just filling your server's harddisks but if you keep these sites improving in seo then about 8 to 10 months is the time when you will start seeing great results like some magic happened. Which depends on pagerank also.
