I started a Tiktok algorithm knowledge thread like a week ago, and I'm going to move it here and continue the thread here because I want to keep it updated as a journey post. I also was very inspired by journeys when I first began and so maybe I could pass that along and inspire some other people on this forum.

Background: started promoting gambling back in April on every social media. Only ones that worked were twitter and TikTok. Twitter wasn't scalable for me at the time because I was mass dming with bots, but TikTok was. I gained 1k fallowers in 3 days, and then I got banned. I gave up on tiktok until about 3 weeks ago and i started posting again, but this time being smart about bans and links. I just got over 700 fallowers this week, and one post hit 1M today (my content is all non-original). I'm also getting like 300 profile views a day, but still no money in.

So, i'm posting here to share my updates on my progress and also what im learning about the algorithm on the way. Hopefully this will be helpful to someone. If anyone else has had success with TT i'd be down connect and share some strategy. Or if you have anything to add, please do!

Here is my original post,

and I will continue to update it here.

Following. Maybe learning something new, who knows.

Crucial Update!!
So I posted 8 vids in a row last night, and got good engagement on the first 6, and it only started to fall off after 6 the 6th. This is a new account i started 3 weeks go and I had my first semi-viral video last night with 10k views in a couple hours.

On my main account I had a big breakthrough with 1M views last night and over 60k likes. 200 followers in a night and lots of page views, but still no conversions. I think this is because i'm using a shitty beaconsai lander, and my actual good lander is being made on fiver rn. Once i get that i hope to see conversions increase. Also idk how people are so into tik tok but like 20% of my views have some retard in the comments saying "stolen video! original creator is so and so" like how tf are you so addicted that you you know these random videos og creators.

ALGO UPDATE:
I haven't had a video pass 10k views in 3 days, after having 20K view videos consistently every day for 2 weeks. However my 2 week old video just got pushed hard over night with over 1M views, and it is less than 30 seconds. Whats weird is my alt account which had a video get over 10k was around 1:30. So its inconsistent right now.

So something changed and i'm not sure what. I will do some more testing tonight. I'm going to post 5 <15 second posts on my second account and see how they do. I will also post one <15 second post on my main and see how it does. ill share results tomorrow.

Here are the analytics for some videos, and maybe we can figure out some useful info. It's weird because retention is obviously the most important, yet i've had 10 second vids with great retention and engagement do average. So there must be a goldilocks zone for video length, i just have to figure it out.

I don't think it's about video length, watch time, or retention anymore... I think it's about the engagement rate and the velocity of the engagement.

Quite a few accounts have seen massive drops in traffic since August started.

Last night I got a notification from Tik tok that said something about the creators program and how I should do videos over 1 minute. Next video i make gets 50k views in a day. So it want 1 minute videos I believe. My shorter videos did shit.

I don’t think engagement has anything to do with it to be honest. My video that is at. 50k has 300 likes and 23 comments. Yet I have videos stuck at 5k with 500 likes and more comments/shares. If more people watch more of the video, then Tik tok will push it. And your video can’t be short. That’s what i think as of now.

My best video of the week is 8.5 seconds long. I dunno.... 26% engagement rate.

Don't apply for it if you're stealing videos, but yeah... 1 min ones monetize better for them... It increases the overall session usage.

I get just 500 to 600 views on my video. I don't know why.
tags may cause this issue? or new accounts?

How is non original content getting so much views ? What are you doing different ?

I gained 800 fallowers today so we’re making progress.

@malayan if Tik tok sees my content as original but it’s actually stolen content should I apply for monetizing or should I just continue trying to use it as a traffic method.

Hey! That's a great journey you have, wish you good luck!

Just curious is there any stages like 500-900 views for a few days and than it starts to cross the 1k mark? I test things rn, but can't beat that 1k mark. How it is when your acc is created? Did you create it and just leave it for some time? Or you started to upload right away on the same day? Maybe it's just a consistency and I'm just not patient enough? I'll find out how it works in a couple of days for sure, but really appreciate if you help me to get this quicker.

Thanks.

i think it just takes time. i just had a 4 day account get a video with 4k so posting good content is what matters the most. after like 2 months youllget views for sure though unless your creating shit videos

Interesting journey keep it up!

How are you monetizing? cpa or rev share?

and what type of content you're sharing on your feed? how to videos or cropping videos from youtube or twitch and uploading it on TT? It's ok if you dont want to share.

Good luck on your journey.
