Update - Week 3
3 weeks into the journey.
A bit of bad news. Due to the big Ig TL wave and a series of bad tests we had, we got a few steps back compared to the previous week. It seems this’ll be a journey with ups and downs, but that should just make it more interesting. We are determined to make it work, so this small challenge won’t stop us from doubling down on our plans.
Thanks to this journey a few people that have similar experiences reached out with some very interesting suggestions, and we’ll be using them as a basis for running new tests.
Now let’s look into last week’s slaves’ data:
| Week 2 | Week 3 | Change |
Active Slaves | 477 | 480 | 0.6%
|
Avg Daily Follow Actions | 52.403 | 57.419 | 9%
|
Avg DMs Sent | 4.127 | 3.387 | -22% |
A couple of words here:
- We are currently at full capacity of live slaves for our first milestone. They still aren’t at full follow actions tho.
- The follow actions increase should’ve been bigger, however, due to a big TL wave from Instagram we had a major setback for the past couple of days. Fortunately we only lost 1 account out of all 480. We’ll run a “rehabilitation” period where we give some of the accounts a bit of rest and tune down on the actions. We should be back to 70.000 daily follows in a week.
- As mentioned in the previous update we stopped sending DMs to “organic” followers, since most of them are bots. This resulted in a drop in average DMs sent across slaves.
And here are the store metrics:
| Week 2 | Week 3 | Change |
Sessions | 475 | 543 | 13%
|
Sales | 8 | 6 | -33% |
ATC | 60 | 60 | / |
Conversion rate | 1.68% | 0.92% | -83% |
AOV | $27.73 | $26.00 | -6.7% |
Revenue | $221.82 | $155.97 | -42% |

We’re down big numbers across every metric (except for sessions, but most of them are from 3rd world countries that don't convert).
One reason is the issues I mentioned above on the automation side. A second reason is a fact that we’ve been running a lot of tests with the DMs spintax and the offer that proved to be inferior to the one we ran before. We currently reverted to a slightly different version of the offer that worked well before this failed experiment.
We are also currently working across multiple fields and want to introduce the following improvements:
- Complete revamp of all the slave accounts. I found almost 900 niche-related images, split them into 3 categories, and manually edited them in photoshop to have one universal aesthetic. The profiles will now look pretty pleasant to the eye and have a legit vibe to them. We are also changing the bio and adding a flowcode link with a redirection to our collections. Every slave will now be an ambassador with their own unique code displayed in the bio. I'll add UTM tracking to the links, so we can track where exactly do we get the sessions and sales.
- We ordered samples for every model we have in our store to make a professional shoot with the products. We’ll use this content for our website and main profile content, but we’ll also create a ton of images, edited in the same aesthetic as the rest of the content on our slaves, and post them there as promotional materials mixed among the rest of the content.
- We shipped units to some micro-influencers to create content for us. The first batch of images arrived, and we're preparing them to revamp our main ig account so we can build some more social proof. We’ll be sending out more units to more influencers to build up social proof.
- In line with the social proof, we’ll do guest posts on niche-related websites and add those posts to our story highlights and website.
We expect all of this to be fully finished by mid-October.
That’s all for now. Feel welcome to reach out with any suggestions, we’re open to everything.
Until next week.
