Hi everybody,

I decided to try out Pinterest as a traffic source and CPA offers as monetization method.

I have no experience with Pinterest whatsoever.

I've watched few videos, read some articles and guides on the concept of Pinterest and how to drive traffic from it. I heard with recent updates the start is a bit slower than it used to be, but it should take only few months to start seeing decent traffic.

I have a limited experience with CPA too.

The model that I plan to use

Pinterest --> Website with content (+CPA link in the every article) --> Popup Optin --> Thank you page with CPA offer --> Autoresponder series

1. Build my MNS website

2. Setup Optin + autoresponder + email series

3. Develop Pinterest account manually - mainly repinning, a bit of following, and maybe some comments here and there. The crucial moment here will be joining the group boards. But first I want to establish my account a bit to make it look legit.

The Goal

Drive consistent daily traffic from Pinterest 50UV / day

I decided not to put a certain $XX amount a day goal and keep this journey as an experiment. Basically, the experiment will be considered as soon as I start seeing a steady daily traffic from Pinterest - 50 UV a day. At that point I will see what it's like and take a decision to scale or to pivot.

FAQ

Q. What is your niche?
A. I am not going to reveal my niche, at least not for now.

Q. How often will you be updating your journey thread?
A. Randomly. I don't have much time now. I may update few days in a row. Other times I assume a week time gap may occur. One thing I can promise for sure though - if I decide to stop updating the journey for some reason I will definitely let you all know!

Feel free to comment and advise! I will definitely may use your suggestions and insights.

Let the journey begin!

good luck with your journey mate ! ,, follow

The first update comes straight away.

Over this week so far:

I updated my Pinterest account. I had one created a while back, maybe half year or so. I changed everything - name, website, boards, etc.

I also was doing some repins. No follows, no comments. Just repins. I started slow, only like 8-10 a day. Probably should increase little by little.

I already have a domain name. I bought it also about half year ago for another project. But the name is "branded" and kind of suits to the niche I am running on Pinterest.

I decided not to invest into articles for now and went the easy way - I bought a PLR articles pack on Fiverr. Will publish them during the week. I don't have expectations in ranking in Google with this project. But if the whole thing with Pinterest will get successful, maybe I will invest in some high quality articles.

I registered with a CPA network where I found few decent CPA offers in my niche, especially I am interested in Free Trial offers. I will not disclose the network name. At least not for now.

Autoresponder I decided to go with GetResponse. I used to be with Aweber but somehow I didn't feel completely comfortable with it. It felt like a bit raw. I don't know what to expect from GetResponse for now, but I read few comments from people who were dissatisfied with Aweber and were happy with their change to GetResponse. So let's try it out.

Probably that's it for now.

I got my first block on "follow" function from Pinterest.

I have some sort of weird glitch. As I mentioned before, I used to use this acc for another niche before. And at that time I followed about 130 people from that niche. So now I wanted to unfollow them. I started yesterday and unfollowed about 10ppl.

Today's glitch: I open my Pinterest profile, go to "Following" section. There I see all the users that I follow. So I click on one, it opens and the "follow/unfollow" button shows "Follow" (in red color as usual), as if I am not following them!! So if I press it, I kind of start following them, again. Only then it changes to the grey "Unfollow" button. And only after that I can finally Unfollow the user when I click it.

It is probably confusing what I wrote. Basically, the button "Unfollow" is broken lol

So what I was doing today, I was pressing this "Follow" button before I could unfollow my followers.

It obviously triggered a lot of suspicious actions in their algos, so after 5-7 unfollowed users I got blocked from "Follow" function. I don't care that much about it. Other functions are still available.

I am working on my WP website and articles at the moment.

I also found out that apparently Pinterest reacts on the geolocation of your account. They will be "offering" my content to people based on what country IP I have when I am using my Pinterest account. Since today I started switching VPN on before using P.

All i can say is good luck and just to know that pinterest can drive crazy traffic since their seo is perfect

Hi guys, I am parallel working on a side project, so Pinterest journey takes longer than I planned originally.

Thank you for asking though, I will try to push things.

At this stage I built a website, published few articles, dropped few affiliate links.

Now the goal is to join few group boards in my niche. Then pin there my pins.

Hi guys, as I promised in the OP I would let you know if I stop this journey. So I am letting you know that I put this journey aside.

Here is the reason why I decided to take a break with Pinterest barely even started. The truth is the following. Along with this Pinterest journey I started another long term project that I am passionate about. And that project takes all my time and effort. I just don't want to spread thin and run both of them at the same time. I decided to focus on that one only. They are in different niches so I can't combine in one.

Although the project I am working on right now is not very appropriate for Pinterest, let's say it's not a female niche like yoga or fashion, it targets different demographics, so I am not going to promote it on Pinterest for now. But in future I might do that. And if this will happen, I will definitely post an update in this thread.

Thank you for understanding!

Sounds like a good strategy, I will follow your thread and I wish you all the best for this journey!
