[Journey] Online vs Offline

Love the thread!! I'm very interested in 7878 method.

By the way are you in Europe or the US?

Also with your ORM/Reputation management are you using a DBA or LLC?

I would also recommended use a prepaid phone if you can afford one.

Keep up the good work

I'm a student, I don't have a time to keep 2 cell phones on me. I don't want two cell phones either.

And its a sole propriership, was involved in a corporation before and its a lot of paperwork and taxes and it doesn't fit into my timetable when I'm supposed to be studying for tests and writing essays. Maybe another day.

Very good point on the Amazon site. I'm focusing on using Websimon Table to make comparison charts early in the articles. Just to need find a happy medium in order to satisfy search engines.

Here's my personal opinion, some people will have a different view on things but here's mine:

Personally I think an amazing way to approach the method that was generously shared by 7878 is by looking at it's essense. You are (claiming to be) an expert in the field of online marketing and because the business you are contacting doesn't have the skills or time to to invest into learning how to properly represent themselves and maintain a healthy consumer - business relation on the web you are offering to do this for them.

Since you are contacting them personally (you should ofcourse represent a legitimate business) by addressing their issues/possibilities and showing that you care about their online reputation you are essentially giving them the feeling that you are willing to work with them to further improve this image and relation with their customers.

So what I think is often overlooked, and this is probably why a lot of people fail to pull this off, is that you are not selling the review funneling system; you are selling these businesses a solution to their problem (whether that's negative reviews or the lack of reviews) and you are establishing a lasting relationship with them by presenting yourself as an expert in this field.

I have been making websites for a long time now and I've made tons of websites for smaller B&M shops where they already had a website in place (which was often shit but that isn't my point). Now the reason I was being hired was usually that they didn't have the technical skills to maintain it, improve it and didn't have time to learn how to do those things. And sadly the company who made that original site doesn't care for them and more than often doesn't even respond to their calls/mails.

If you can offer your clients a service that's of actual lasting value to them you will get a very loyal customerbase that will stick with you and which will bring you new clients by word of mouth.

Some extra services you should consider for your ORM business:
- Submitting the business's contact information and business hours to business directories and checking them at regular intervals to keep them correct (there should be ways you can automate this)
- Offer local SEO. You don't even have to start meddling with their website, just set up a G+ page if they don't have it already, make sure all directory entries list their official website; perhaps do some backlinking to their social properties so that they rank higher.

That's great, comparison tables work; although their effectiveness depends A LOT on the type of site you're building. If you are strictly comparing let's say 4 different types of waffle irons then that's great, throw some comparison charts in there. Now if for example you are attracting visitors that are still at an earlier stage of the sales funnel and are looking for information on brand X then you might want to go with a more informational approach and maybe do a quick overview of the brand's strong points further down the post linking to some of their most popular products. I'd say do whatever works for you in terms of acquiring visitors, encouraging them that the product they are reading about is awesome and sending them to amazon, and let them handle the rest.

Day 17:

Good news for offline side!

Online:

Amazon site

  • Not really hit by Penguin 3.0
  • Service delivered giving some authority web 2.0 backlinks that I may show a little more love to myself with good links
Amazon site #2

  • Still waiting on those articles to be delivered but its the weekend so I don't mind.

Offline:

7878 Method

  • Going to wait until the end of the week to follow up with last client
  • GOT A MEETING SCHEDULED FOR THURSDAY
  • This meeting is for a guy who needs Reputation Management + SEO + Social Media so this can be a big fish!

Offline:

Day 21:

Online:

Amazon site

  • The TAT on some of these BHW services is ridiculous
  • Ordered another round of Web 2.0's with articles and no links to them
  • Going to age these accounts
  • Emailed websites about guest post, one place wants 1000 words so need to write that tomorrow

Amazon site #2

  • Still waiting on those articles, it's getting ridiculous
  • Ordered another article from different supplier to test quality

Offline:

7878 Method

  • Went to meeting with potential client
  • Meeting went well and we have verbally agreed to be in business
  • Going to meet up one more time to discuss but it's probably going to be ORM + social media + local SEO
  • He doesn't own a business with high RIO like doctors so I'm going to charge him a bit less

Wasted method

  • Emailed businesses about updating their websites to something more modern
  • Didn't have time to call but will get around to it next week when school slows down

Sorry for lack of updates to anyone following but I couldn't access BHW.

I've got a contract for SEO and sending out more mailers so if you want quick money, offline marketing is a lot easier to make money in in a quicker manner I believe.

I've been put off continuing the online journey because vendors on BHW have pissed me off with subpar articles, no delivering of services, that have all resulted in refunds.

I'll continue to do them in my own time but I'm busy working on this current client's set up.

Any updates? This sounds like one heck of a project, and I'm interested to know how big of a 'fish' that guy who bought your service was.

Was he an ROI, and then some, since the start of the project?

Looking forward to more! Thanks.

Hey Op been reading this thread for awhile now it looks like your making great progress so far keep it up and remember to always save some of that money for a rainey day fund.

Would love an update on how the offline business is going and how much your making off of it now.

Sounds intriguing, been doing something similar to this recently, going from online to offline. Any updates would be appreciated :)
