Inspired by everyone here and their journeys—especially after reading https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/journey-building-an-ios-android-app-empire.1272635/ about building an iOS app empire—I became motivated to start building apps on my own.

I've been following many mobile app developers on Twitter and wanted to try it myself too. It's a steep learning curve since I've never done this before, but I've been using ClaudeAI, and taking a Udemy iOS course.

My plan is to build iOS apps across various niches. Since I have almost zero coding knowledge, I'll start with simple one-feature utility iOS apps and gradually progress from there.

Currently, I'm starting from scratch with nothing but my brain and a few tools. I'll be beginning with a lot of zeros here, and I'm curious to see where I can go.

I currently have one app idea in mind, and I'm trying to develop it. I aim to develop an app each week and then move on to a new one.

Here are my current stats:
  • Number of Apps: 0
  • Earnings: $0
  • Costs: $20/month for ClaudeAI and will pay $99/year for an Apple Dev account once I finish my first app.
  • Learning: Udemy iOS & Swift Course: Section 4-#44
And here are the tools I'll be using:
  • Coding: Swift using Xcode.
  • Knowledge Sources: Google, YouTube, ClaudeAI, and Udemy.
  • Monetization: Planning to start with Ads from AdMob.
It's been super hard to motivate myself, and I've been procrastinating like crazy. So, the purpose of this journey thread is to keep myself accountable.

FYI: I'm sorry I won't be sharing the apps I'm building.

Thanks, everyone, and I hope that with this journey, I'm able to motivate others as well.

I am also considering investing in the APP market recently. I have read a lot of articles on AI programming, which makes me very excited. I hope to have the opportunity to make progress with you.

Good luck.
Any idea how frequently you will update your journey?

Sounds cool, I hope you will create an app one day and make a little money. Tag me when that happens :) Following!

Isn't it just wrong to make apps from a business perspective?

You still need promotion like on your own website.

Or is your goal to get united states traffic that's common for iphones?

I can code such apps with my eyes closed. But... I can't see it paying without you investing in paid ads.

It's today's reality.
You either pay for ads or depend on information working like a horse.

The fees for publishing apps are outrageous, assuming you need 50+ apps.
Combine it with promotion costs, it's super hard.

I'd make 1 app a day and test ads configuration.

But if you do so much at the same time, you'll end up like that angry dude who has 80 pages long thread. He seems stressed as fck.

procrastinating
Such a thing doesn't exist in reality. It's too general. You simply don't feel rewarded and have no hope. I can see why. Your planning is weak - plan every single step, predict issues, troubles. Think of writing about the process and thinking about it as the actual work.

Implementation is just formal thing. It's secondary.

Figure out how to promote them for low bucks and what to sell in your apps

Since those are your apps, you can control everything. If you make them popular, you're banking hard.
