Thats an impressive start It sounds like timing created the opportunity but keeping users engaged and improving the community is whats turning that initial growth into something sustainable Best of luck with the journey!

And that's one of the most difficult parts. Users come, get their daily dose of leaks and leave. It's pretty difficult to keep them engaged and I've tried various methods, but overall things look good. Thank you,

You will achieve your target soon. Good luck.
Thank you. At this moment I am staying at steady rate of 1150 new users per day, 700 new threads and 14,000 new posts.

I think the most difficult part is the beginning when the forum is empty.
How did you managed to get so quickly from 0 to 20k members with no content in the beginning ?

I've applied various strategies.

Yes, the beginning was awful.

First and foremost, the entire team worked on Reddit promotions. Communities, comments, crossposts, DM's, everything contributed to a big snowball. The second most important source of traffic is Google. The website looks extremely good and even though it has ~2 months, the Google metrics are incredibly good. So far we've got ~100k clicks from Google in the last 2 months with 11,000 indexed URLs.

How do you deal with people who try to sneak in illegal content?
What about DMCA takedown requests??
We have a big moderation team, so content will get deleted quickly. So far, we had no instances with illegal content.
Also, we have community ambassadors which help us keep things tidy.

50k in like 40ish days is wild honestly. The custom image host move is smart, offloading images from comments is exactly what kills these forums once traffic spikes... server load gets ugly fast.

One thing im curious about @iamnotjusthera, with SC reopening and your growth slowing to 600/day, whats the retention looking like? Getting users in is one thing but keeping the daily actives up is the real test long term. The login streak addon should help with that but do you have actual numbers on returning users vs one time visitors?

Also the 100k Google clicks with no backlinks is impressive... must be all the indexed model pages doing the heavy lifting. keep it up

I have a forum with almost 40,000 members (around 400–500 simultaneous visitors), tons of images, and a single server is enough to handle it. I previously tried storing the images on DigitalOcean Spaces, but it ended up being much more expensive. Currently, my server has an Intel Xeon E3-1230 v2 (3.3 GHz, 4 cores), 32 GB of RAM, and a 1 TB SSD, and it costs just $30 per month.

Well, some interesting things have happened yesterday.

I woke up with 40 messages and once I hit the forum and all the images we're blocked. We've imported massive ammounts of content from SC and they blacklisted our forum. There was a "nice" message and a threat.
So, I did what anyone would've done. Set-up the image hosting, started replacing those broken images and started a full-scale war against their platform.

Now, we're sitting at ~1400 new users per day and around ~6,000 active users per day.

Now, we're sitting at 15,000 impressions + 3700 clicks coming from Google alonside with 16,000 indexed URL's

I also pay exactly 30$ for the forum hosting and it looks like works flawlessly.

Hit me up with your forum URL, maybe we can partnership.
