Hi people,

I had successfully adapted to my version of Everyman sleeping schedule last year, it helped me pass my exams; made me very productive.

Now, I am going to adapt to it again.

I made my own schedule, It involves a 'longer' core sleep of 3 hours, supplemented by 20-minute naps throughout the day.

Sleep Time
5pm To 8pm [core sleep] = 3hrs

1am To 1:20 am =20mins

5:45am To 6:05am =20mins

8:40am To 9:00am =20mins

1:00pm To 1:20pm . =20mins
Total Sleep time=4.2hours

Some questions you may have:

1) Why is the sleeping schedule irregular?
= I have divided my work within these 20 minute naps

2) How do you even plan to achieve this?
= "Show me the incentive and I will show you the outcome"
I have a really 'good' incentive which will keep me dedicated.

May this journey motivate you all to give Polyphasic sleeping a try.

BTW, last night I slept for 7 hours, and I have been awake since then.

I've heard of it but never had the power to start it.
When it's 10-11pm I start to become sleepy and I don't wake up early the next day lol, my sleeping cycle is fu*ked up.
Also I don't feel comfortable to take naps at school/work :D

Anyway, good luck will follow your updates and I may try the polyphasic sleep too.

This is the most absurd concept that I have heard in recent years. Your body is not going to be able to take it in the long run and it isn't worth it in my opinion.

You do tests on your own body based on an website with name " zoomtens.com". They have to complete 10 arguments for all their articles. :)
It worked out great for me, I was really productive.

I'm sleepy right now(very), so I just googled benefits of polyphaPol sleep and this popped up.

I was about to try this, but im working out 6 times a week so this would fck me up real good..

I take 15-45 minutes to finally decide to get out of bed after taking a nap, If I did this I would never get out of bed

Good luck, I hope your body gets used to it

I've tried polyphasic sleeping several times. its rough getting to the point where you become used to it. Once you finally do, i've found it only takes a night out of drinking, and your back to square 1. Be ready for your days and nights to all become one big slur.

Just want to drop in and say good luck!

I use to go polyphasic and then went down to biphasic which suited me better so now I either go normal mono or biphasic depends.

But yeah if you can crack it, then it can be amazing, its just hard to fit a social life around it I found, like if I go out for a night out, but if you wanna lock yourself away and churn out work and can sacrifice some 'normal life' elements then it can be soo awesome and crazy productive.

The first few days or maybe around the 4th can be super hard but once you kinda get the momentum it gets easier.
The bits I struggle with are that initial push when you are super sleepy, to stay awake after you have woke up and just adapt to the new routine of Poly and get out of bed quickly without just laying there for 40 mins each time I awake, it can be hard getting up in the first few days but yeah keep the motivation and dedication and put a lot of initial energy into it for the first 4 days so you can get to that first glimpse of a routine/pattern.

Once again good luck and make it super productive, but don't do it forever :)

Thank you! :)

Update:

So far everything is going ok, following schedule, didn't miss any alarm.

Waking up from the 20minute naps was very difficult.

I was able to get work done, more than I had expected.

I have started eating very less than I normally do, and increased my water intake. Also, the music from '''Two steps from hell' helps a LOT.

I'm vey confident that I will achieve this;)

Ive heard people sleeping their naps on the floor so its easier to wake up, if you can fall asleep on flat floor you could try that out.

am not sure i can sleep for 20 mins and then wake up. here is what i do and it ain't healthy at all. when coding i don't stop till i finish the task at hand, well except for small weed breaks, could take 24h could be more.. once am done i go to sleep without setting any alarms. i think am not even "time-aware" anymore
