Journey 3 hosting bucks

This Journey I will be developing a web design service and claiming commissions through hosting.

The Plan:

Set up the site for customers to see
register with a few hosting affiliates ( thinking Domain.com, hostgator and go daddy) unless anyone knows of some uk hosting company's with good affiliate programs?

I will set up a page on my portfolio for free website with purchase of a hosting package. The website will be as is, and any changes that the customer wants made will be charged. I will also be offering custom sites, but these will be chargeable.

For the free sites I had planned to do custom sites, but while researching yesterday I found a few threads from people here that recommended using templates. This however gave me a few questions, that I hope someone will be able to answer.

Question 1:

If I download free word press templates, when the customer buy's the hosting, I just install word press, upload the theme and tell them it is done?
The reason I ask is it seems to simple?

Question 2:

I was also thinking of using a few html5 templates, not powered by word press, ( I can build sites from scratch but never had a need to venture into word press so don't really understand the advantage of the system)

Would you guys recomend sticking to 3-5 samples that are all wordpress or having say 3 wordpress and 3 non wordpress?

well, i gotta get started, if i think of anything else I will update.

So I have been looking into word press, until I gain a better understanding of the word press structure I will only be offering sites that are html5.

Plan of action for today:

Add Free Website page to my portfolio
Add the templates to the page
make accounts with relevant sites
finalize the page.

to Q1: It basically is that simple, but of course you can also put in some sample content.

to Q2: It should be easy enough to offer any template for standalone (html5)/wordpress/other CMS, so the customer can chose which CMS he/she wants.

And speaking of customers, I didn't excactly understand what you are planning to do (and how you plan to make money out of it), can you explain it a little bit more ?

I was thinking about doing this as well. How do you plan to reach your customers?

Yea, sure,

So basically the free sites, will be given when hosting is purchased through my affiliate link, so i would be paid from the host. I will also be offering custom sites, charged on a per project basis.

I am sure It is an old method, but see no reason why it shouldn't still work, once the site is set up and I have everything to the point where I am happy with it, I will also be writing templates to publish on template monster and other such sites. Only problem is I tend to finish something and then decide to take it apart again to try and improve it. just need to get into the habit of, finish, upload, done, instead of finish, start again.

have a few other avenues of rev that I am also looking into, When I get the emails back with the details I will post them up.

Wordpress and other CMS wont be offerd until I have played about with them and am happy that I can do at least basic layout changes, just to save any agro of a customer getting a template and then wanting to change the layout ( at a cost)

by suiting up and doing the age old face to face sale,

So hit a small problem, payouts. Everything I have found so far wants to payout via paypal. My last paypal account was closed, the balance vanished and to top it off paypal took an further $100 from my bank account (via a direct debit that had been canceled). When I called paypal about the money missing from my bank account they said they have no record of taking a payment, even though my account clearly shows them taking $100 from the account. So it's safe to say I do not want to work with paypal again.

Does anyone know of some hosting affiliate programs that will pay in another method such as payoneer or nochecks or something?

spent all day yesterday trying to find the answer to not using paypal, seems the best option will be a stealth account. Would much rather not have paypal in control of my income though, as if they decide to limit the account, leaves me up shit creek with no paddle.

Read up on stealth paypal accounts
read up on seo, and ppc advertising
design business cards and other promotional items
