I've been testing to proof myself whether this theory is true or not. Rather thank asking you guys, I think it's better if I tried it myself.

So, in the past few months, I've built a backlinks to my new money making site..which is currently making me money..with www and without www but most of it with www.. if I did it the same than there is no difference right..

So, here comes the result..my site that I use to backlinking with www have a PR4
Backlinks without www gave me a PR 1 result..

So, for me this theory is true..from now on..STICK to only one. REMEMBER, if you use www, make sure you use it to all of your backlinking strategy..

    I hope this helps..

Come again? :) Are you claiming that if you drop your link on a site for a backlink, it matters if that site is prefixed with http:// or http://www. ?

I'm not sure what you mean by that Micallef..I just share my experiment here..I just wanna know whether se count the backlink as one no matter it's with www or w/o www.

So, can you tell me why when I type the url with www..it gave me PR4 while if I type in w/o www..the result is PR1..explain to me..I know you have a lot of knowledge..

I'm not sure about this when I started experimenting..otherwise my site will be PR5 or 6 now..I don't really care much about PR..I just want it to be on the top spot on G..and yes..it's on G first page on 3 keywords that I target, first page on yahu and on top spot on Binq and most and foremost..it gaves me money..every single day..

I should have pay more attention to this guy from now on..

    chill bro

Yes the big SE's will count that as a back link to your website.

In regards to the quote, that's really the standard protocol when coming to your domain, either decide you want to exclude the www from your url or not, it's not good to leave it open to inconsistency, as you suffer from pagerank bleeding. Most people and including myself tend to use a fully qualified address, the best way to do this is to include a 301 redirect in your .htaccess file:

    Code:
    RewriteEngine on

    RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^yoursite\.com
    RewriteRule (.*) http://www.yousite.com/$1 [R=301,L]

That will redirect users to http://www.yoursite.com and will also pass the weight of your link as well.
