So, I'm trying to rank a video that's an image that says basically to "follow me on Twitter." I found the keyword using those terms. Of course I'm not going to tell you the exact keyword. But it is low comp. and around like 2000 local monthly visits which isn't bad :)

  • So I did some Keyword Research using Ultimate Niche Finder and found a nice keyword to rank for.
  • I put the exact keyword name in the title, description box, and tags.
  • I then bought a Fiv.. Gig that gives 20,000 views
  • Now I'm using AddMeFast to get the video likes (technically views too because in order to like a video you have to view it :) )

My goal is to not monetize this video, I just want people to follow me on Twitter. It sounds like a good plan though.

So do you think this is a good way to rank the video?

As you would do with any youtube video..

1)Backlink using wiki link and social links with keyword
2)Feed Retention views
3)Feed likes, comments and favorites

you will have your video ranked with those steps :)

I hope those views you ordered are high retention otherwise you are going to hurt your rankings.

Without a doubt the best method for ranking videos in YouTube is a consistent flow of High Retention views and Social Bookmarks. Period.

Actually my method is working. With an exact match, it's on the 1st page of google, and without quotes, it's on the 4th page :D --- I used a different IP address to view the results as well to be sure. It's already working and I just did it today -- woah.

How does retention views differ from regular views? -- Kind of a newb when it comes to Youtube.

How does retention views differ from regular views?
Regular views are basic views which are the minimum time needed for a view to count.

Retention view is the the time views per view, ie High retention views would be views which are viewed for a long period of time...
