Hi,

I am new to scraping that's why I am asking this question.

I am observing a website where customers post their jobs and look for contractors.
Is is possible to scrape these daily leads?
I would love to have the emails to customers looking for specific contractors in a specific area.
Sorry for a newbie question. I'll appreciate your answers.
Thanks

Do you think Scrapebox can be used to do that?

It depends if the emails are clearly visible on the website, if it is then its easily scrapable.
If they are using some kind of contact form instead, then no, you won't be able to scrape anything.

Of course you can scrape them, not sure if Scrapebox can do that since I have no experience with it but there was a guy on here who was an expert on that soft (I'm forgetting his name right now but if you search any questions about Scrapebox you'll quickly find him)

@aznxfrost
That's what I thought. They do use a contact form. So, it would require more than a black hat method to get these emails, I suppose :(
Thanks

You mean @loopline? :)

Scrapebox cannot scrape JS served content as far as I know. However, a python bot can easily do that, given that the information is available publicly (or, it can even login, if you have the credentials).

@Gogol
I don't think these emails appear publicly.
Thanks for your answer.

It's not possible, they won't put details in public. Its depends on the site too.

Oops sorry I thought he meant to use the messaging functionality on the site to follow up with those customers. Unless they posted their emails with the lead, the software cannot magically create data

Yes agree with you. Some sites restrict them to not add personal details Or email id's. If they are paid members may be they get a chance to contact them directly.

Thanks everyone.
That was very helpful.

If you can see it on a website you have access to, you can scrape it.

Yes you can do it wit a custom scraper

@SEOscrapy
Are you sure it can be done with a custom scraper? The customers fill in a contact form with their details when they want to hire a contractor and their emails are not visible publicly.

Can you recommend another software?

You can generally reach your potential customers on your pages and interact with members on Instagram and Facebook.
