When you type in a brand or business name into google (which happens to have a GMB listing) it will show up in the knowledge panel because google thinks you are searching specifically for that.
When a business decides to name their business the exact keywords of a local service e.g. "plumber company newyork" and it shows up in the knowledge panel, have they basically tricked google?
Maybe there's competitors with the same service but they've all used a different set of keywords for their business in their listings and so when you type their keywords in a 3 pack shows up.
Anyone understand this train of thought?
What is someone else came along and named their GMB listing the exact same name "plumber company newyork" and did all the essential things to have it rank. What would happen to the first one?
Would anything change in the SERPS?
Does anyone has knowledge on this?
Thanks!
