The day when google stocks tanked, is the day when SEO really R.I.P
My point of asking this question was different. Earlier, I saw many people preferred link building using high PR blogs, stupid keywords rich articles publish, article directory submission and many other stuffs. But now, I believe using these skills can harm your site ranking, so better to implement the website structure properly using well written content which can help your readers. But also, there is a huge trend in social media marketing, Pay Per Click now. Do you think someone who used to spend $5000-10000 per month for SEO will keep the same investment today on SEO???
First of all, thanks to everyone who said SEO is not dead. You people are truly smart, from your reply I learned what is SEO, how Google work, whats the importance of algorithm etc. Honestly, if I have never posted this question, I would have never come to know what SEO and Google is. Working in Digital Marketing industry for 4-5 years would be of no value to me.

A couple of points to address this post, AdsInternetMarketing.
You talked about website structure and content on a site; that is SEO, it is more specifically on site SEO and it will probably never be dead.
You mention that link building, PR Blogs, article submissions and many other process as possibly hurting sites. Done improperly they can but done properly they rock like Elvis.
The trend in social media marketing and PPC has actually been around for a while and is probably going to be around forever as well. Paid advertising has been a main stay of most businesses for centuries and I would expect it to remain and that is all those mediums are... just focused on our industry.
Finally, will someone that pays 5 - 10K a month keep that investment in SEO? Absolutely. I'm sure that I am not the only one that sells SEO services where business is increasing and our client base is growing, not just in size but in age, as many stay with us so we can continue to aid in ranking their sites and many come to us to start. I would bet that is across the board in that industry.
I think that you may have it in your head that the sky is falling a bit and it is not, that is not happening in SEO.
