Totally agree with this take SEO isn’t dead, it’s just different. I’ve been focusing on topical clusters and refreshing old content, and that alone kept my traffic growing even after the last update.
SEO will always exist while search engines do, but the trend shows many users shifting away from traditional search as AI tools increasingly replace Google for answers.
If someone says “SEO is dead,” here’s what I hear:
“I believe my old tactics no longer work, so I’ll use the same headline to grab attention.”
That’s fair — old tactics are dying. But SEO itself? Very much alive. You just need to adapt.
If you’re doing SEO in 2025 or beyond, ask yourself:
Am I optimizing for AI + humans, not just one or the other?
Do I have a content architecture (clusters, silos), or am I writing ad hoc?
Am I building real authority in my niche or leaning on shortcuts?
Am I tracking whether my content is being cited by AI / generative overviews?
Is my site technically solid (speed, schema, crawlability) — or a fragile house of cards?
I’d love to hear what others are trying. In this new SEO era, sharing experiments is as valuable as results. What are you testing now? What’s working — or failing — for you in 2025?
SEO isn’t dead—it’s just evolved. With AI and constant Google updates, pure link-spam or keyword stuffing doesn’t work anymore. But creating valuable content, optimizing user experience, and building authority still bring consistent results. It’s more about adapting than abandoning SEO.
