Of course you can start writing a blog on Self development/ self improvement it is a great topic. The traffic purely depends on the keyword. You should target more keywords and you should do lots of research on it to get a better clarity. And always concentrate on the quality of the content. Because that will play an important role in it.

Self-improvement is a HUGE market. Within it, there are countless niches. Some are ultra-competitive; others are barely competitive at all. And there's everything in-between, too. I personnaly don'tgo online searching to buy self improvement products. If I want to improve myself I would search for information and products in the specific areas that I wanted to improve. The more specific you are, the easier it is to exactly target your best prospects and their wants/needs.

Exemple: self improvement ---> self esteem ---> self esteem in teens ---> self esteem in teen men ---> self esteem in men 14-18 years old.
"11 ways to encourage self esteem in men 14-18 years old" is part of the self improvement market, but it's a very specific product that addresses a problem and would be way more enticing to buy than say an info product with "Self Improvement Tips" as a title

Self-help is a very popular niche, but you need to follow the usual pathway to get sales through a site. What problem does the product or dervice solve, such that visitors may want it? Does your site address the issue from a '201' POV, instead of a 101 basic approach? E.g., while a Life Hack type article might tell somebody what to do to improve themselves, does your site or product go more into the how to do those things? That kind of precision can set your site apart enough to be the preferred resource to go to help visitors out.

Undoubtedly a great niche to pick for a website and write articles on but very competitive. It must be having high monthly search volume and many websites are competing in this niche. So for a newbie, must be difficult to rank on top.

I don't even know how you can discuss that niche quite like some are doing in this thread because it's such a broad niche. I would think you would really need a subniche to be concentrating on. And that's you in.

Yes, it's worth it. However, you gotta be specific about what part of self-improvement you'll wrap your offers around.

Any niche can work, of course.
