Is reddit shadowban permanent?

Reddit shadowbans are typically permanent and don't automatically expire. If you're shadowbanned, you'll need to appeal directly to Reddit admins to get it lifted - they won't just go away on their own.

mostly political, things about trump. and astroturfing from the right, oh i notice they dont go after propaganda bots most of the time too. you notice how regular users, or even the non-propaganda bots are getting banned more than that. plus spez/huffman has an affiliation with musk, hence why there were so many purges this year. basically what facebook, and youtube is now. im hearing in another forum that they are banning keywords associated with P47, plus they are unilaterally deleting comments, posts.

They might be pushing such topics more for more shares, views and engagement.
 
Shadowbans are usually permanent unless a mod removes them, so creating a clean, warmed-up account is often the only reliable fix.
 
In most cases, it is permanent. Make sure there is no connection to anything banned when creating a new one.

A Reddit shadowban is usually permanent — it doesn’t go away on its own.

However, if you can’t see posts in just one subreddit, that’s not a shadowban, but rather an automod/mod action, which can be temporary.
 
Shadowbans on Reddit aren't always permanent. Sometimes they go away if you stop the behavior that triggered it. But if it's a hard shadowban, you may need to make a new account. It really depends on the case.
 
Reddit can drop permanent shadowbans for spam or bot behavior – your posts just vanish and nobody sees them. You won't know until someone tells you.

Check it out – log out, search your username. If nothing shows up, you're shadowbanned.

You can appeal to admins but it usually doesn't work. Starting fresh is your only real option.

Honestly though, if you're running accounts for traffic, don't waste time fighting Reddit. Better to just grab an aged account with karma already built from marketplaces like accsmarket – skip the whole grinding phase and dodge the ban risk.

One thing though – if your account got nuked, your IP probably got flagged too. When you're testing new accounts, use residential proxies instead of datacenter IPs or VPNs. Reddit catches datacenter traffic pretty easily. Residential IPs blend in way better.

Just work smart instead of fighting the system.
