Can we make big money if we invest a huge amount in media buying for running CPA offers?

Media buying is all about building white/blacklists. Which means testing.

Start broad testing several campaigns, with a budget of 3x payout to see which convert. Ditch the ones that dont and drill down the targeting even more on those that do.

I have just started a new jv to scale what i currently do more and that is exactly where we are at this moment.

Ok. Which ad network or ad fornat do you use?

It is not as simple as that, there is no short cut with media buying, different offers work best with different ad networks. You will have to test them all.

Okay. At least tell me more about the ad formats you use.

You are not listening. ALL of them. Different combos of network and ad format work best for different offers.

For example if pop ads never worked, there would be no demand. They do work, just not for everything, same for banner, push, display etc.

As I said there is no shortcut for media buying.

You just have to test the combos out and scale up the ones that are profitable.

That means you need deep pockets to be successful at it. If you don't have $thousands to invest don't do media buying.

Okay. Thanks for the explanation. How much investment is required to get started with media buying? I know it depends on the offers we try but can you give me an approximate minimum amount required to start the business.

expect to lose a few thousand before you get the hang of it.

Is a few thousand dollars sufficient? I knew we'd lose money at first, but I figured it'd be less than $1,000.

Because you don't know what your doing you will have to try every possible combo to start with.

That means testing; offer, network and campaign to see which work and then drilling them down even further to be profitable.

As both I and @thescrrr explained be prepared to lose $thousands figuring all that out.

Im sure after doing this after a while youve learned that some combinations of certain ad formats and specifc types of ads seem to do better on average than others, otherwise you would of moved on to different ventures. Can you give us advice on that? Also in your experince what CPA networks seem to work better and are more friendly and compatiable for the types of marketing you do; ie. media buying? Thanks .

All i can say is, don't underestimate the process. Media Buying is very competetive and unless you are very lucky, you are most likely gonna burn a few k's of $ before reaching consistent profits.

There is literally still money in every vertical. You can use Pop, Push, Native, Facebook, TikTok, Adwords etc. - Everything works a specific source. Depending on your budget you can either start out with native or display (if you have a big budget), or start with Push and Pops (which are way cheaper than Native for example).

I suggest you generally start out with low payout offers (SOI/DOI Offers) that have a easy funnel that you can send your traffic to. That way you won't burn a hole in your wallet and you are learning the process a long the way.

Try CPA Networks like Clickdealer or Olimob. They have good offers for such traffic.

I appreciate your detailed answer. I still have a doubt.

I use propellerrads to drive traffic. I eliminated the bot traffic and am now only receiving very high quality traffic from particular zones. Despite receiving numerous clicks on my landing page, there hasn't been a single conversion. Should I change the offer or traffic source in such a situation? I suppose there is too much saturated traffic. If I'm doing things incorrectly, kindly give me some tips.

As i explained you really dont understand how mass media buying works.

There are no offers i run you would be able to. Networks hide their best offers until you prove yourself, it is the same with private offers, even traffic and payment terms.

To repeat: networks hide the best traffic and offers from newbies and make you wait far longer than i do to get paid.

When i find an offer / traffic combo that works well, i buy all the traffic, so there is none left for you to buy.

I am on the lower / average spend level in media buying. There are many many guys who do it on a far greater scale than i do.

You have to find the stuff we missed and i explained the trial and error approach you need to use to do that and exactly how i do it.

No, PropellerAds still has some of the best traffic in my opinion. It definitely is the offer or your landing page, or a combination of both. If you have the money its better to test multiple offers at the same time in order to determine a winner quickly.

Okay thanks. I don't find any good offers to promote other than smartlinks. Do you have any recommendations for CPA networks?

Never ever use smartlinks. It's impossible to see what offers your traffic is recieving and therefore you cannot optimize or even use landing pages to warm up your traffic. Use Networks like ClickDealer, OliMob etc. to find good converting offers.
