From what I have read on here I have seen mixed feelings. I have a ton of ghost/fake followers which I am pretty sure bricked my account. Will removing them and starting back legit with my account save it or is just a dead account now?

Is there any service that reduces them all? Been looking for one since a year now and haven't found one yet :(
The only good I knew was igexorcist :(

They measure engagement. If nobody likes your stuff (ghost followers) then it will continue to wreck your organic reach.

I'm sure the marketplace has someone offering services :)

That's what I figured. I am currently also cleaning up who I am following. I have 21.4k followers at the moment and I was following 2,500 so the following clean up wil lbe nice and quick. Gotta figure out the Follower one though.

I forgot about the Cleaner app in the appstore. I have used it in the past to mass delete psosts. I forgot it has a blocking feature. it is legit!

"Cleaner for instagram" is the best app.

Hard to say if its worth it or not. I had 30K on a 7 year old account, never bought a single follower but had 1-2% engagement and hardly grew. I deleted 6K ghosts and restarted the account with photography related posts and nothing changed, so I made a new account and I got to 17K in 5 months and surpassed every milestone my old account ever had. I had a friend in a similar situation do the same and he blew up to 150K plus

If this account isn't too aged or valuable, then restart it.

Having 10 followers and getting 20% engagement is more important than having 50k and one click.

One questions is 2k with 40% engagement good?

Another question. Is it smart to use engagement groups. I haven't used them but will they be useful?

Again, hard to say...there is no "truthful" answer...I think 6-10 months ago the groups might of worked but I don't think they make a world of difference any more. Some think they do, some think they don't

Groups are great sources of traffic if you can build a large targetted group and your links aren't banned.

What methods were you using on your old account versus your new account?

For example botting on the old versus manual on the new? Or maybe powerlikes, etc?

Thanks for the tip on the Cleaner app, looks very helpful, just starting out here so good to have this app in my arsenal from the get go.

Love cleaner and cant believe I forgot about it. I am currently slowly deleting ghosts and unfollowing useless accounts.

It is a great idea to remove ghost followers since having lots of followers but low engagement rate is never beneficial.
