Hello!

In the last month, I have created a whitelabel loan comparison website that I now intend to drive traffic to (EU). I have chosen to use paid ads (meta, tiktok(?), google, bing) but I have a few questions before jumping in.
I have an ad budget of 20K€, no earlier experience in paid ads so I will have to do a lot of testing. My affiliate commission is 200€ per accepted customer.
Flow: Landing page -> Collect email/phone number -> Send customer to partners iframe.

How hard is it to generate profit in my case? 200 per commission is plenty but I know at the same time ads in finance are expensive.
Which platform do you think is the easiest to get started with in my case and why?
Which KPI should I focus on the most?

I am super grateful for all the answers I get. Of course you will be able to follow this project in a separate thread when I'm ready to launch the site. :)

Do not be fooled by the commission amount. Sometimes you may generate more profit with a $2 email submit offer rather than a $100 offer simply because in the first case you get paid when visitors just submit an email while in the latter you put visitor through a lot of hoops first in order for a sale to "happen".

Google ads because it is the biggest one, you can target very specifically what you want and with different types of campaigns and placements.

Use add to cart and/or sales conversions pixel through the Google Tag.

Would you say its possible to get a positive ROI out of google ads in the loan section with a low budget (20k)?

The guideline to invest successfully on Google ads and do some proper testing is that the product should be about 0.5% of the total budget available for testing. 20k for a $200 product is not enough if you really want to test extensively including placements on Google Ads that may give you high ROAS.

You might get lucky and find out proper placements / keyword combinations but it's not a solid strategy.

Try with Google Ads - research the keywords, find these with most intent to get loan and make campaign with exact match. Laniding page is very important! Where did you get these loan offers - affiliate network or direct with the banks/credit institutions?

With a €20K budget generating profit is possible, but it can be tricky, especially in the competitive finance space. Meta and Google Ads are good places to start because of their precise targeting. Focus on Cost per Lead (CPL) and Conversion Rate to measure success.

The easiest place to start is with Google Ads, as this platform provides the ability to target high intent keywords such as “favorable loans” or “loan comparison”. This will provide access to an audience already interested in your offer. Meta and TikTok can be useful for testing ads to a wider audience, but they will require a more careful approach to creatives and targeting to avoid wasting budget on unsuitable users.

The payout is pretty low IMO. 20K is good amount to work with, but even if you manage to get positive ROI, you will most likely not be happy with your scale.
Not to mention that you'll need to pay Google or Bing upon reaching thresholds while the network would pay you on net 30 probably, meaning you'll have to wait 30-60 days before getting paid.

hi bro, You should try advertising on Facebook to see if it is effective with a low budget experiment.

It can be profitable with smart testing! Start with Google Ads for targeting, and focus on CPA and conversion rates.

You can generate profit with €20K, but testing is key. Start with Meta for ease of use. Focus on CPL, conversion rate, and ROAS for KPIs. Good luck!

Start with Meta Ads for easier targeting and a lower learning curve. Focus on Cost Per Lead (CPL) and Cost Per Acquisition (CPA) to ensure profitability while optimizing your campaigns.

It’s definitely possible to turn a profit, but it’ll take testing start with Facebook or Google Ads for easier setup, and focus on metrics like CPA and conversion rate to make sure your budget works for you.

With €20K, you’ve got room to play, but finance ads can burn cash fast Meta’s good for testing, just watch CPA, conversions and ROI closely

Google Ads is a solid choice for finance, but don’t sleep on Meta or TikTok for testing. Keep an eye on CPA, conversion rate, and ROAS, and you’ll start seeing what works! Good luck!

I agree with @deppo.

I disagree with people saying that 20k gives you room for manouvre, you're going to be competing against absolute giants.
You could be looking at $20+ (sometimes much higher!) per click for highly targeted search terms. You're gunna need to get creative with your targeting, and finding innovation in this space is difficult (so many huge players are trying too also).

I'm not trying to dissaude you. Conversions will depend on your offering and your lander. But 20k is going to evaporate quickly. You don't have any margin for error unless you can add additional finance at a later date. You're campaign will take a good few weeks to get upto optimal performance.

If you spend €100 on ads and get 10 clicks, with 2 people signing up, you’d make €400. That means your cost per customer is €50, so you'd be in profit. Just keep testing and tweaking to get those numbers even better!
