Pretty safe, but there is software out there that can activate things in your computer when sending notis for you to open. But for that to happend they will need your IP and a virus already connected. I remember a software in github i cant remember the name, image tried it out just for fun on myself. It was crazy but as soon as i closed down the screen/notification i sended to myself in another computer i was unable to go through any more information.

So many told you not to click any links but with how updated browsers are nowadays there is near zero chance that you'll get hacked by executing some JS on some website.

I have never seen a case of being hacked by opening a message. Hackers usually send you a link, when you click on it they will control your device.
