Is it possible to get hacked by opening Facebook message?

If you don't know how hackers are hacking, nothing is safe. You will be easily hacked if you click on phishing links or download contaminated files. So, be aware of it to be safe from getting hacked.

Avoid clicking anything in the message and probably best not to open anything from unknown sources.
 
If you click in the links other people send you, yes, how to avoid it, have 2fa enabled a second email as verification and your phone number, they will have a hard time trying to remove everything because the second email will help you to get your account back even they got the main one.
 
Please stop listening to people, as long as you dont run, or input anything you're safe. Only thing they can get from simple click on link is your ip.
 
There's a tool you can use for all this things getting ip etc.. something like metasploit shakwire etc..
