Are there any place or guidelines (preferably the support youtube website or any trustworthy website) where youtube says it is Legal to buy youtube channels from other people/creators?

Was reading a thread and people said should buy channels from the same country you are located, so that's weird, cuz if youtube allows to buy channels why they should be from the same country people are located?

There is no law that says don’t buy accounts.

It against their terms of service but not illegal.

Appreciate your reply, should have wrote the word Against instead or Legal, just want to know if youtube allows to buy channels without being against its terms.

It's against YouTube TOS. But it isn't a severe issue. I bought channels with over 100k subs in the past and never had any problems

Watched a video about someone (probably a company) that wanted to buy mrbeast channel, so it was weird, you dont want to spend millions on a channel if its against it's terms.

I looked into this a couple of times. In all cases, it's completely legal, But in certain cases, it's against the TOS as others have said.

Personal accounts = always against TOS to transfer
Brand accounts = if it's registered under a business name it's considered a business asset and can be transferred with a business.

Google wants nothing to do with it and washes its hands of all responsibility to the account if anything should go wrong. That's because, for a personal account, You can't change the details that were used to sign up, which makes it liable to be recalled as "hacked" by a crooked buyer. Youtube doesn't want to deal with that drama. For Brand accounts, since the company is the one who registered the account, the new owner of the company is the owner which is easy to prove.

This information may be outdated though, It's been a long time since I looked into it. Mr Beast probably runs a brand account registered under a legal business. So it would be the same as offering to buy the business.

Appreciate it

They don't allow it even if you buy the account in the same country, there is no reason for youtube to know you bought an account and get banned, so you buy an account in the same country you are, change the information of the account and continue using it and youtube doesn't have to know, if they know you bought an account you'll get banned simple as that, you wasted money and time is not ilegal just against their TOS.

I think it was a billion dollar offer but anyways, still get your point...

Not really ,but you can still do if you go gently with it the first days , dont change info and use same country IP

No they don’t, why should they allow it?

It is not illegal. You won't go to the jail for that. :P
I don't even think it's really against their TOS. Can someone send me the text which says that's against their TOS, please?

İt's okay if you're not going to buy a stolen youtube channel

The buying / selling of a YouTube channel is not an illegal act, nor is it against YouTube's T&Cs.
Some people say that it is against YouTube’s T&Cs, but nowhere have I seen it explicitly mentioned in any of YouTube's T&Cs that the buying or selling of channels is prohibit.
Let us assume a business has a YouTube channel and that business gets sold, then even the YouTube channel of this business, would change ownership because the business gets transferred to the new owner.
Buying and selling of YouTube channels is not illegal, otherwise a popular marketplace like Flippa will not have YouTube channelsin it's marketplace.
Be careful of scammers who hack someone else’s YouTube account (channel) and hence sells it it illegally. Do your due diligence before buying a YouTube channel.
Maintain precautions. Example : You buy a YouTube channel from Mr.A and let us assume this Mr.A screws up with another of his YouTube channel and that his channel gets suspended, then it also put's the YouTube channel that you bought also at a risk of suspension.
If you mention to YouTube support that you bought the channel, then there may be a possibility of YouTube terminating such a channel.
