Pinterest results are pretty low value.
I don't think Google would prefer to show a Pinterest result unless the keyphrase the searcher is looking for is geared more towards graphic content.
I view Pinterest results as not much different from forum or Quora results.
You should be able to outrank them.
Your focus should be on search intent and, also, how comprehensive your answer is.
So you shouldn't just simply answer the question posed by your search term but also include related questions, so it’s going to be much harder for an alternative page to knock you off because of how comprehensive your content is.
