Is Edu Backlinks Still works for blogging?

.edu backlinks still work, but not like the old days where any .edu link was gold. Now it’s all about relevance and placement. If you can get a legit .edu link within relevant content or a resource page, it can definitely help rankings. But random profile or spammy .edu links don’t move the needle much anymore. Quality > just the domain type.

Why do you avoid EDU backlinks for new domains?

Yes, it does but not in the way you think.

A lot of people would buy student profile accounts on high-quality .edu's and create cheap backlinks.

It doesn't work that way anymore.

You can get actually penalized for that.

Instead, your content should be talked about in the actual school newspaper so that when they link to you, it's actually earned media.

The link is completely organic and completely natural and your rankings can go up quite a bit when that happens.

You would need high quality EDU backlinks to see good results. Don't use random links.

Relevant, high-authority sites still work well for me.
