Hello Guys,

Is Domain Age Important SEO for Google Rankings?

Yes, however it is just one of the couple hundred ranking factors.

I've found it to be less important recently as it used to be a few years ago. It still helps though although you'll need to check what type of backlinks you have on the purchased domain. If there are 6000 low quality, spammy backlinks, you'd probably be better off starting with a fresh domain.

Probably one of the only metrics that still plays a big role.

Authority can be faked, PR can be faked, TF and all of those Moz stats can be easily faked...

Age is the only metric that cannot be altered

Yes! It is a Important factor, But the most important factor is Content and Quality Backlinks.

Yes it plays a role. However, there are about 199 other metrics used as well. If those 6k links are all spam, the age doesn't mean anything because you'll never rank a penalised domain. You can't just choose one metric and hope for the best.

Age really matters and plays a solid role in rankings. After the recent waiting period dramas, the worth of aged domains will definitely increase.

So you're lucky to have a good one with you now provided the backlinks are of good quality and non-spammy.

Its really a very important factor in ranking after recent google updates. I would advice you to check the back links of the domain by your self ..just to make sure if they are not spammed to death by viagra/porn anchor texts!

Yeas. Absolutely domain age also one of the very important for ranking.
