Is building links on a single cms flagged (not wordpress)

Hello people. I have access to lots of DotNetNuke(DNN) websites, a relatively old content management system which is used in about 1/500 websites using windows, built on ASP.NET. They are all high authority and I am able to get links from them as I wish. I am however worried that google may recognise the CMS and not raise my ranks due to the rarity of the cms and the high unlikeliness of me getting bunch of links from them.

There is however, the point to be made that wordpress makes about only 40 percent of all websites, and as the common practice goes, people almost always build their pbns on wordpress. It makes me wonder if google will be able to recognise that the links are not naturally if I just get most of my backlinks from DNN websites as it apparently lets people rank lots of pbns all made with wordpress.

Does anybody know of a penalty due to the overreliance on wordpress for all pbns, which would make my DNN backlinks worthless or do you think I'd be well off with just using DNN websites to rank.

Your problem is exactly why a lot of SEO pros diversify their backlink profiles with all kinds of readily available backlinks like forum profiles andweb2.0s.. Diversify a little and problem solved

So that will be enough I suppose. Since I'll building them from the same obscure CMS I suppose I'll have to dilute it a lot more am I right?

By the way man, can you give me info on how I can manually do that or point me somewhere where I can get it for cheap? I have not seen a list of commonly used ones just listed on a thread.

I am also trying to find web directories but all from the limited view of ahrefs backlink checker. Business directories will have to be found manually since I'm aiming for a local clinic but I'll sort that out anyway

I agree with diversification. I have a pbn made entirely of wordpress websites. But that is only a small portion of my external link profile. Most of my links come from GSA SER for diversification purposes. I will recommend that you also find some way to diversify your link profile. If it’s spammy stuff don’t use keyword anchors.

they do do web 2.0s though, and when you think about it it follows the same logic of any other blog link. The first result in all queries for my country has about 10 web 2.0's

Do you recommend I go with the GSA SER for forum profiles web2.0's etc directly to my site? Do you recommend I do anything else for it (besides getting web directories indexed and business directories?). And is it even necessary, like instead of spending a week figuring out GSA SER and then spamming can't I find a service that does it for like 1$?

Btw zombie pop do you have any recommendation on this:

I dont use profile links (but you can) and I never check web2 in SER because it doesn't work. In SER, I use contextual links, blog comment, social network/bookmark.

If you want to use a service you can. I don't because I dont like to blast my website. I do not recommend blasting your website with any kind of link from anywhere. If they can offer a steady drip of links over a few months that would be ideal.

Dont use keyword anchors if you are using a spammy kind of service (like something for SER or web2). I recommend reserving keyword anchors on stuff you control or can be deleted.

I dont recommend using a cheap spam SER service on your website. My campaigns are set up very differently compared to cheap service. For example, my blog comments are scraped in a very sophisticated way using custom tools, legible content that makes sense, and are relevant to what is being linked to. Everything in my campaigns in SER is customized and relevant. Its not some Kontent machine auto scraped and spun poop. Although the links are regarded as poop, my data options are not even close to poop.

So be really careful with SER services or any kind of service.

But you need to diversify somehow.

Alright thanks. Could I ask how many of these diversification links you use for a website? I think I'll be manually doing these and want to know if i have to have like 1k comments to get 10 indexed. Because it wont be worth it that way

If we are talking about external links directly linking to your money site (hereafter, t1): There's not a set amount of t1 links that I use or don't use. I do not ever turn off SER, I just change the content. As long as the link building starts of at a reasonable pace, and does not stop rapidly (or at all) thats what you want. So for a brand new website I'll set SER to stop building links at about 5 verified links per day. This is a good starting point. The rest of your strategy with SER is going to depend on what you see in your rank tracker. If you need more links, increase the links. Just don't stop building links. If you stop suddenly the algorithm can detect that, and it is unnatural unless your website went offline. Even then its unnatural for links to just stop all of the sudden. Ramp up slowly, decrease slowly, is my thought process on that.

As far as indexing is concerned: there's some very strong opinions that a web page with a link on it must be indexed to pass any page rank. I disagree with that personally. I have some evidence from experience that non-indexed, and DE-indexed pages still pass page rank IF googlebot has visited that page and passed through the link. So don't get all hung up on whether something is indexed or not. You want the page to get crawled and the bot to come through the link for sure. Thats very important at a minimum.

Also, blog comments will almost always be made on indexed pages. So don't sweat it.
