After every Google update, people will start to cry "SEO is dead", and we all gonna lose our jobs. Thats true

But?

But this fear is applicable only to people who don't update their skills and are outdated with SEO stuff

SEOs who are really passionate about SEO will never worry about Google updates, they will find ways to overcome the drop after algorithm changes.

Look at the client site we have been working on for the past 1 year.

You can check keyword difficulties for the keywords we are ranking for.

It's one of the highly competitive Internet businesses, and the target audience is majorly from the US, EU, and all the developed nations.

From the beginning we focused on quality links building, we never compromised on link quality for the expense, so no link farms in anyways

I would definitely appreciate the client for always being ready to listen to our suggestions on choosing the best sites.

We had a budget of 5K to 6K USD for links every month, so we were able to focus on quality links.

So, I am here to say, don't just lose your hope if you face any drop after google updates. Just focus on things you should improve.

Wishing you all the best.

One can also say,

"SEOs who are really delusional will never worry about Google updates."

Now this is interesting. This subtle way of trying to nudge people to buy from you and basically exploiting a possible loophole in forum of not being allowed to sell on non marketplace or non WTB/ HAF subforums.

Before you guys hate on me, check OP's signature banner. Clever. Very very clever.

Sneaky.

I think that SEO in general is dead. These updates are that they frequently release are ruining everything. Even if you post good content it is highly likely that you will get shadow banned by their system. So, you get 1 or 2 clicks a day and that's all.

Even as a writer I'm jobless for the past couple of months, nobody is really interested in hiring long term SEO writers.

Blackhathat SEO is all about finding loopholes in Google algorithms, that's how we all have been doing since the 2000s. But it's getting hard these days.

I will never SEO is dead, it's evolving from what we have been doing previously.

because it's not about writing *good content*,
it's relatively part of the deal for the long term, but you won't rank, gain authority & compete with good content

I think a $5,000 monthly budget for only link building is great. I've ranked some movie and IPTV sites with the same strategy and their working great till now. As I see it, Google doesn't care about black stuff for powerful sites (they are copying every unique article from new-born sites and indexing them under an hour).

I constantly monitor what industries are demanded. There were whole niches that were destroyed with these updates. No matter what tricks you pull out and what kind of keyword stuffing you do or write natural content, your content will not rank at all.

Because, once again, good/natural/long content won't make rank, and definitively not keyword stuffing,
Today's SEO is mainly about Authority (links), topical authority, and UX signals,

You need original, non-spammy, with the least decent quality of content to rank,
Good content will play a relative role in influencing UX signals, better pages/visits, time spent, less bounce rate, etc...
If your page(s) is getting better overall UX stats than your competitors for any given search query, the more likely it will keep ranking & rank better

So, how come my SEO authority is junk for google and good for bing, yahoo, duckduckgo, etc? If google is not screwing me, i should have 10k visitors, but I only get 175.

different algos, different outcomes, can't say much about these SEs,
not something I'm sure of, nor made any tests for, but as far as I'm concerned, their algos are kind of outdated, think of it as Google a few years ago,

Their outcomes are consistent while google is not. No matter what you do, google will not give you a chance to grow. They pull these updates only to penalize websites.

No matter what you do? nope, certainly not,
Did you try building a solid PBN, investing in building a solid website with proper KW/Niche research, building topical authority, good SILO, internal linking, good design, catchy CTAs, optimizing users engagement using catchy CTAs, etc...? or did you just write "good content" to make things work?

You can keep putting the blame on their algo & updates, it won't change a thing,
Be part of the crowd of "SEO is dead" and move on to a different business model, or invest in things that have a solid chance to work,

I'm certainly not praising the company for whatever changes they do, personally, I'm totally against it as a corporation (for political reasons I can't mention), but as an SEOer, you'll be just manipulating their algo to get part of their traffic for free, all while competing wit others (what really matters)

Unfortunately there are many cases of people who are not involved in Black Hat tactics that are also victims of Google Updates, it's not like you are immune to Google penalties if you are working with a 100% white hat website

this is not a business model mate. If you are a business and rely too much on this, you are out of the game with the next update. Then what? All of the money spent on links gone. There is zero security. Just cross your fingers for the next update and hope for the best. Even as a writer is frustrating because with each update I'm losing clients and more and more people are reluctant to invest in this piece of shit business model.

Google is not an honest player these days, even with the new authority and UX metrics. For those trying to pursue these current WH dynamics, one suggestion is to go about adding them to your ranking efforts in a 'quick and dirty' BH route. If you have a budget, buy 4-5 big editorial links for instant authority, maybe two dozen niche edits to build topical authority, and embed very popular or clickbait viral videos on your posts to drive UX or dwell time on your pages. This is a pricey way to go, but depending on how your monetization is set up, will do more for you than will cost you.
