I think technically speaking it doesn't make any difference for SEO. BUT it's more about structure and expansion- out of the box it's harder to build out quickly with pages but if you put the right structure in place then you can have a more organsisrd site with pages.

It depends on your existing "interior" designing layout.
If you're doing a corporate niche, chances are blog posts are additional fluffy content to educate & gain readership via e-mail marketing
If you're doing a fitness educational niche, just do static pages many many many!
Hi, @Frankkk. You can apply on-page and off-page SEO regardless if it's a page or a post. The difference maker is not the container but the content.
