Is adsense approval manual or automated?

In your experience with adsense approval what do you think about it? Is it human approval or automated approval?

It has to be automated approval considering the number of sites using their platform.

I think now they review manually also.

It looks like a mix of automated preliminary review, and likely a manual review after. I've applied with a new site recently and they have rejected it 3 times for "hidden" technical issues that wouldn't be obvious from a quick manual review. Like, if a site has hundreds of pages, obviously they can't review them manually. But they can scan for dead links and banned keywords and check for duplicate content etc before someone does a manual review.

But, for sure it has to go through SOME automated review.

Op review is manual for some countries and automated for some countries.

It has to be automated, however there must be some set of activities/conditions that may trigger the manual review.
