IP Changes with Mobile Proxies for Automation

Hey guys,

I'm new to automation. I started using a proxy provider, and I noticed that every time I try to connect with a mobile proxy and then reconnect, the IP address changes. I want to create automated Instagram bots using a web scraper. I was wondering if this behavior is normal. Is it okay if the IP changes every time the bot will go on instagram? Is this what's known as IP rotation?

I purchased mobile proxies and set them to rotate IPs every hour on the website. However, the IP addresses are still rotating more frequently than that (every connection). Is it bad for Instagram if they detect that I'm using a different IP address for each connection, even though I'm using mobile proxies?

It's not bad per se, but it's better to have a bit of control and it's not normal to rotate randomly. There are some mobile data providers that just rotate their IP randomly and you can't do anything about it, but it shouldn't happen more then once per day or even lower
 
It can be a small red flag for Instagram but usually the IP rotates and gives you a similar IP from the same area so it's usually fine

Are you sure you 100% configured the rotation interval with the right time? The proxies are shared or dedicated? It's not normal to rotate faster/slower than you configured.

On the other hand, the IP change is normal, since the rotation acts like the airplane mode, and retribute a new IP each time . There are some carrier networks which allow IP rotations only at 24/48/72 hours interval, so there will be less changes over an established time.

I see. How often do you think I should rotate my IPs? I plan to code bots that log into Instagram every day to watch stories, comment, follow/unfollow, like posts, and eventually start posting the content I provide.

I'll check out the configuration. Mobile proxies share are not dedicated by nature right?

There are dedicated proxies (1 device + 1 sim + 1 user) & there are shared proxies (more users use the same device).
 
It seems that this may be a little red flag for Instagram, as it changes IPs so frequently, even if you are using mobile proxies. This is not typical behavior for the average user (this is the key point). I would advise you to contact the support team of the service where you purchased your proxies, and I believe they can help you.

It’s no problem. IP rotation is crucial for Instagram bots. Set it to rotate every 3 minutes when using multiple accounts. Use an anti-detect browser along with a reliable mobile proxy, and consider configuring a TCP/IP fingerprint on Windows to maximize safety.
 
In general, with mobile proxies, there are two ways the IP might rotate:

1. Proxy provider rotation: this will be manually triggered by the provider either on demand or on a schedule - this will force the proxy to release it's old IP address and retrieve a new one from the network provider.

2. Network provider rotation: this is triggered from the mobile network provider's end whilst the proxy maintains a connection to the mobile network - it is usually the result of CGNAT. The frequency of this sort of rotation varies between network providers.

If you contact your proxy provider they should be able to advise on how to set up any IP rotation you might want as well as avoiding unwanted rotations.

Say I have one bot with an IP rotation every 3 minutes. I intend to use that bot to like posts in my niche, watch stories, and eventually post. Isn't it suspicious that it changes IP addresses every 3 minutes?

No its not and its working. Friend of me have an Instagram Bot. They run like 10 bots on 1 proxy. But of course its also about who good is the bot and dont start with 100%. Start slowly to warm up accounts.

Yes, it’s normal behavior for mobile proxies to rotate IPs upon reconnecting. This is called IP rotation and is often used to mimic human behavior, which is fine for Instagram automation.
 
That's about it. IP rotation is a feature for most mobile proxies. Unless you really need that sort of thing, there's no reason to have it on. Particularly if you need static IPs.

mobile ips arnt generally static they rotate
