Hello!
My name is Jon. I am a single dad living in California. I have two daughters who are 14 and 9 years old.
The main reason I began writing was because I decided to build a child custody web application that helped single, separated and divorcing parents easily track their involvement; a tool to aid or avoid in child custody disputes. While it was in its concept stage, I launched a blog FullTimeDaddy.com, and a FB Page to help promote it. It was the only thing I could afford for marketing at the time. This brought an invitation to become a regular contributor to HuffPost, and opened new opportunities. My primary social media marketing is Facebook with over 25,000 followers to date, and this has been organic growth.
80% of my followers are women, and half of them are 25-36 years old. This is my target audience. I enjoy writing about dating, relationships, parenting, recovery, and marketing. If it's family-related material, I'm definitely down for it. I do cuss sometimes though - not a lot - just for emphasis.
Most recently I published a piece for a DUI Attorney, my first sponsored writing that was unrelated to my personal adventures. He was thrilled with the response, and it made me consider opening up my soapbox to other opportunities. I enjoy learning about new industries and I ask a ton of questions. The process to complete his piece was fun, engaging and educational.
As far as the child custody app, I was given the chance to attend the American Bar Association and present it to a whole bunch of attorneys. Last year, I've developed personalized applications as a creative method of marketing family law practices - using their logo, colors, and content, integrating with application. Though I am the only sales guy, and the CEO, I've been able to launch in 17 States in 2016. As a single dad, I cannot stress how important it is to keep a solid history of your pick-up, drop-off, and frequency of contact records.
There's definitely a lot more to my story. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of the BHW community and I'd love to hear from those across the world and connect. Let me know how I can help.
