Hi BHW,
This is my first post on this forum, but I have been following this website for a while now. As a short introduction: two years ago I was introduced to the online marketing world. I have since been very much into the technical side of it, focusing mostly on website building whereas the other team members focus on other parts of an online business.
We've started a new website on a new concept a couple of months ago. As with a new website, it takes time to rank, but there's progress. We want to do the same concept in other countries, which means we need the website to be in other languages. As the website's name depends on the language, we've already bought the domains for the countries we plan to enter.
The international strategy is to have a language selector in the website header, so people can navigate to the similar webpage on the domain of the other language. We want to start translating our blog posts in about 2-3 months.
Is it useful to already start the websites for those other domains and have the international websites without content for a few months before filling them? I would start the websites, configure the theme, certain pages, header, footer, etc. etc.
Does it help? Would it make the initial ramp-up in organic traffic after starting a fresh website shorter?
