I sort them all manually on my own and yes I focus heavily on topical relevance around the same keyword clusters.

OP is very much on track. Internal linking helps Google bots (and other bots) to crawl and index and also improves Page Rank. By the way, your newest blog posts will get more link value if you link to them from the homepage, instead of only on the category page. And Google will find new posts quicker if they’re linked to from the homepage.
 
Yes, obviously, many internal links will point from page A to page B. But you also want to link your pages together into categories.
 
Since you do pages instead of posts, can I ask how you structure the page url?

Do u do url like this? moneysite.com/parent-page/child-page?
then what if the parent page slug is very long? u leave it as it is? or short the slug manually??

I am curious if this parent/child url structure is really strict for silo? or u can do it more randomly, e.g moneysite.com/parent, moneysite.com/child-page
