Hey guys
I recently started working with FB in the iGaming niche, and in a short time, I’ve managed to test several geos and offers, gain some experience, and even close a few good cases.
Figured it’s time to dig deeper and connect with people who are also in the game.

There’s one question that’s been on my mind
For those of you running Meta Ads in gambling, what’s your take on the difference in approaches?
I’ve noticed that agencies from the UK/US/CA mostly follow a more “classic” path, while CIS buyers use completely different traffic methods.

By the way, I recently visited Sigma Malta and had the opportunity to meet the founder of a CIS-based agency. We had a very productive conversation, and he shared their approach to launches and optimization. Honestly, it really felt like a completely different school of thought.

❓Has anyone here heard of something called Spark Up / Catch the Spark in the FB context? They say it’s quite common among CIS specialists.

Curious to hear your thoughts and experiences

I am in IT, payment processing and gambling and Ill be following closely here.

UK/US/CA usually run in a stable and durable manner, prioritizing safety and compliance. Meanwhile, CIS buyers often choose to strike fast, strong, test a lot and accept risks. Spark Up / Catch the Spark simply burns money at the beginning so that Facebook can learn quickly and accelerate distribution.

I came across the phrase called Spark Up / Catch the Spark during a conference trip to share experiences about advertising. These two phrases are often used to create excitement and call for action from consumers, helping to increase the effectiveness of advertising.

Hi, thanks for sharing this very useful information. It is true that the approach between the CIS market and the West is quite different, from creative strategy to testing of offers. I have heard of the "Spark Up" or "Catch the Spark" method, which usually refers to the initial phase of a campaign with a small group to quickly explore the details before scaling up.

UK/US/CA shops tend to stick to scalable, policy-safe FB/Meta flows, clean funnels, and heavy data testing.
CIS guys often blend "grey" tactics (e.g. shadow flows, obfuscated paths, exotic proxies) and faster scaling.
"Spark Up / Catch the Spark" seems to refer to a kind of burst + camouflage traffic template used by CIS teams to "ignite" scale under the radar.

Nice to see you diving into iGaming, bro.

CIS buyers tend to experiment more aggressively with traffic sources, cloaking setups, and different optimization tricks

About spark up/catch the spark, yeah, I’ve heard of it. It’s more of a CIS style tactic for warming up and scaling, some people swear by it, others say it’s just another short-term hack.

Nice insights! It’s interesting to see how traffic strategies vary by region i haven’t tried Spark Up myself, but I’d love to hear from others who have used it for FB campaigns.

Cool to see you’re in this too I think your payments background can actually add some solid insights.
Have you seen cases where payment setups were the key to keeping FB campaigns stable?

Really well said . West goes for stability and compliance, while CIS pushes hard and tests like crazy. Do you think this “aggressive” style can last long, or does it usually burn out accounts fast?

Interesting take that you see it more as a consumer-trigger thing I was thinking of it as more of an internal FB tactic, but your angle makes sense. Have you tried running something like that in gambling?

Appreciate the feedback I also got the impression Spark Up is basically about kicking off with a small group before scaling. Have you seen it work consistently or more like one-time cases?

Love that description “burst + camouflage” really nails it. On proxies, curious, are you talking mostly mobile/resi mixes or something more custom you guys use?

Please use the multi-quote feature here
How to Use the Multi-Quote Feature on BHW.

Using the multi-quote feature will help you avoid receiving a warning for post-count inflation. Furthermore , it’s a great feature that make pretty easier to respond to multiple users / posts all at once.

We will appreciate that.

Mix with emphasis on mobile + residential, with sticky sessions, geo-targeting, and rotating fallback. They avoid datacenter proxies in sensitive flows. This is consistent with general best practices in the “semi-grey / affiliate / performance” world.

how do you promote it ? via lander or app installs?

There is a concept of Spark Ads in TikTok — where you use existing (organic) content (videos) to run ads, taking advantage of the “native / organic feel” to increase interaction.

On Facebook / Meta, there are similar forms of whitelisting / branded content / partnership ads — allowing to run ads from other people's creator accounts / posts, maintaining the “author” identity to increase trust.

It is possible that “Spark Up / Catch the Spark” that CIS people use is an (internal) strategic variation based on the concept of whitelisting / boosting user / creator content to “catch spark” — catching fire from available content + spreading.

The things you mentioned are all new terms to me. Are these CIS style methods more effective for long term account stability?

CIS agencies often use faster, more aggressive testing and scaling methods, sometimes bending Meta’s rules. Western agencies focus more on compliance and steady growth. “Spark Up” is likely a quick-launch, rapid-optimization strategy common in CIS markets. Understanding both approaches and adapting them to your needs can give you a real advantage.

CIS guys use more aggressive, unconventional tactics. Western agencies play safer with classic methods. Spark Up is likely a regional growth hack. Adapt to local rules but keep compliance tight iGaming is risky everywhere.

"Spark Up / Catch the Spark" is a rapid initial money-burning strategy for the Facebook algorithm to learn and accelerate ad distribution. This quick and risk-accepting method is popular in the CIS market, in contrast to the stable and compliant operations of markets like the UK/US/CA.

Since there is no primary source, it is possible that “Spark Up / Catch the Spark” is a “black market” or internal term, with parts that are vague and unstable. If the application is not clear to you, it may violate Facebook policies (e.g., unwanted traffic, spoofing, hiding sources, etc.).

If excessive “camouflage / cloaking” techniques are used or if the terms of service are violated, the account is vulnerable to being checked or disabled.

Totally. iGaming’s risky everywhere rules change fast, and competition’s brutal. You gotta stay on your toes.
