Hey friends,
I wanted to open up a discussion on what we think was the underlying method for instagress' targeting settings.
If I remember correctly you could target:
1) tags (from a list of up to 1000 hashtags of your choosing)
2) location (from a list of up to 100 of your choosing)
3) usernames (from a list you provide)
4) usernames that follow the usernames list you provided
5) likers (users that liked media from usernames list you provided
6) commentators (users that commented on media from username list you provided)
You could toggle on any of these services.
What happened behind the scenes after that --- I'm not sure.
Did instagress compile into one large list the usernames that matched these filters and then after scraping them followed and liked them? Or was it more nuanced --- did instagress create separate lists of usernames for each of those targeting options and then exploit the lists with most returns?
