I feel like I have an excellent idea for an Instagram service but I'm not sure if it would make sense to spend money on it because I am not sure what Instagram would think of it.
I use this service myself and there are no alternatives that I know of, and this method has helped me to grow my accounts throughout the years.

This method is 100% legit, no shady business, but it requires a lot of API calls from Instagram.
I currently use RapidAPI and am almost 100% sure those APIs are not official. But since this service is for personal use only at the moment, it's all good.

My question is, what would potentially be a reaction of Instagram if they see a service out there that is used by the masses and it uses an unofficial API?
Have you heard of such stories before? Is there a way to anonymously reach Facebook out for comment? Maybe they won't be against it and will make me a FB partner? Lol

I kinda feel like my idea is in some way linked with IGBlade's fate. It was a great service while it lasted, but (and I am guessing here) due to usage of unofficial API the team got threatened by the court and had to take it down fast.

Then again, if Instagram just asks first to take the such thing down without any 'penalties' or anything like that then I would gladly go ahead and build this thing because I am sure I can make good money off of it.

Would love to hear your thoughts on the matter.

The IGBlade wasnt taken off because they used an unofficial API. They were taken off because they had 2TB of Instagram data and they got hacked. I’ve created something similar but lost the motivation after some time but clients came so it is still needed.

Thanks for letting me know, that’s acually great news.
So if IGBlade was doing fine, does that mean Instagram doesn’t really care about the use of unofficial APIs?

They dont care until you have paid plans. Just dont let to be free to view hundreds of accounts. If you need any help feel free to reach me out

if I remember correctly, IGBlade did have paid plan

You could scrape free for a long time, but then they got Instagram message that it needs to be locked due also to GDPR and they left then alone. Until their 2TB data leak happened
