[INSTAGRAM UPDATE] They just killed pagination

The same thing happened few weeks back.
It is unlikely a permanent thing they are doing, could be a bug in their system or just some maintenance thing.

I think it could be a fact of bandwidth being cheaper than database queries and also, it stops alot of bots/spammners.
What real user really needs to see 50,000 followers of an account? xD

Allowing to see many followers will make a market if increasing followers, if they don't show that people will hate instagram and leave it, coz actually all people go their to increase followers :)

In 3 months I am following 100+ no more and I have 16,000 followers. In other words, I still don't know what scraping and following people is going to do for you. Its not about how many people you follow....I mean sure, you might get some people that will follow back. But Instagram is trying to get people away from this type of behavior by putting up road blocks like this one. This is just my personal experience. Oh if you want to see my page its pretty_latex_girls_

I cant tell roughly 50% of instagram accounts are spam and 30% are people looking for followers and likers, the rest 20% are people dont care they just make an account and they forgot about it... look at accounts since 2010, year of instagram creation by the poor iOS App team, many of them left it already.. and the good thing now, instagram loyal to them, didn't drop their accounts yet..;)

Does this have something to do with the recent change to how follower/following lists are sorted?

They used to have most recent at the top, but now they seem to be sorted algorithmically (with most "relevant" towards the top). I've been using the iOS app Captivate to follow/unfollow, but now I can't unfollow easily since recent follows are now sprinkled throughout my entire following list... I was hoping it was a bug but now I'm not sure.

hi - What tool is eveyrone using to get the list of 48k or 50k followers of an account? Is there some way to get them into a csv or txt file?

For example: If I wanted the 10,000 most active (recently commented / liked) users that are following a target account, how can I do that? Then, assume I want to do that for 20 accounts. What's the best way to proceed to get such data?

Hello Blackhatters doing IG,
Just to inform you, Instagram killed Pagination! (NOT VERY GOOD)

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN??

Before, for example; if you wanted to follow a user's followers, you request the user's followers list.

Instagram would return around 200. If you wanted more users, you could load more using Pagination with a next_max_id that Instagram provided.

In plain terms, think of it when using the app, when you scroll to the bottom, it starts loading and more users appear.

Yea, Instagram killed this.

Now, Instagram returns around 7000 users of the follower/following and that's it!
This may be a new chapter of Instagram for us where we can only scrape so many users.

For the moment, you can still scrape users from other sources such as comments, hashtags etc
However, Instagram may begin to extend this function soon!

Stay sharp ;)
The ball game is evolving.....
