Instagram Popular Page Glitch?

So my instagram account Mrbrent98 made the popular page every single time until about 3 days ago... 3 days ago me and just about all of my friends PaulJZimmer lolaughter benjaminlasnier and so many others havent hit the popular page since! I hit the popular page yesterday but it was after my picture had been up for 3 hours... Do this goes think this is some kinda glitch because of the new video feature and the app is getting overloaded and all? or do you think they changed up the popular page? and side note me and all my friends would make it every single time and we all have over 300k+ followers!

Off topic: But how the hell did you get that follower base? It's great.

On Topic: I believe they wanted to promote videos by putting a few on the popular page so people get used to it more

on topic: ive posted some videos and mine haven't gone popular and i got like 16k likes in 1 hour
 
wow thats great work, can you duplicate this, getting on the pop page that is?
 
what do you mean duplicate? I also have this account StarsThroughLife that gets anywhere from 20k to 60k likes and that isnt hitting popular page either! Do you think this is just a glitch with the instagram servers because of the new video feature? zero of my friends are hitting the pop page and they used to hit it every single time

Sounds like you may just be one of the lucky ones.
 
i own a 700k + account. all my pics still make it to the pop, without problems
 
Maybe instagram's just manually adding to pop page at the moment because of the videos. Just give it some time.
 
I noticed this happening also. Seems like the last pictures that made it to the popular page were on June 14th.

Yes Correct there letting videos go thru pop before pics because its new and they want to promo vids and you said u posted video too and didn't hit pop because there basically posting them by que if you post a pic n get 16k likes and then 3 hours later it goes to pop because your id was in a que and when they got to it they posted it.. if you do finally hit pop again u will keep popping cause basically u established a gateway I know it sounds weird but its whats happening at this time with the Glitch from the video added. I RECOMMEND POST a pic at real early either 5-6am or real late 12am - 1am and you will pop less users on IG. GOODLUCK!

But why our photos canT get pop? It's unfair!!! I am posting landscape photos since november 2011... All of my friends become pop easily... It's unfair.. I tried to contact to instagram but they never replied...
 
no, i stayed about 2,5 hours on pop page, but i am only with about 1 out of 15-20 photos on pop page

I haven't been able to hit the popular page in weeks.... the video thing killed my momemtum
