Instagram popular page glitch? Help!

Hello all,

I just joined the forum and I have a question for people who have Instagram accounts that hit the popular page.
I have 56k followers and on average I get 3-5k likes on my content before the photo dies (in terms of traffic).
I have two videos in particular in which the traffic has not stopped...they are both over a month old.
Coincidentally, the two videos are the first two videos that hit the popular page. One of them has 50k likes and the other has 14k likes and still gaining likes.

My question...why did the traffic not stop like my other content? Are they still hitting the popular page in another country? I have a lot of followers in Kuwait and Dubai. I did a google search for the content and it was not featured on the Instagram blog or anything. very confused.

Thoughts? Has anyone experienced media that does not stop getting traffic on Instagram after over a month duration?

Many accounts are naturally popular and have systems set up to increase activity all month long.

Instagram throws the pic out to a lot of people when its posted then it dies down. So users use systems to keep activity all the time.

could you explain these "systems?" Does Instagram manually select these users?
