This news was found by user on Twitter, I'd like to say that I don't know this source personally, so in worst case scenario it can be fake.

Yeah, i've been lately quite inactive - i'm changing internet connection provider and so far it was pain in the ass. I have to do everything from my phone (which is annoying and slow as fuck).
 
Finally. Apart from that it looks cool, more and more apps start to realize, that with dark theme you can spare battery life, at least if you have an OLED screen. Savings can be huge, when Google introduced the dark theme for Youtube, battery savings were 15-60% compared to the light theme depending on the screen brightness used.

Yeah, Google has also finally introduced the dark mode for Gmail.

is it in trend to offer dark modes for the users like leading mobile companies are also offering this feature in their smartphones. Whats the benefit of this?

Battery life saving with OLED screens. You can read what i wrote above. Google said that on 100% screen brightness, the Youtube dark theme used 60% less battery than the light theme.
 
I guess they’d only do this so that more people will be using their platforms because phone battery lasts longer. This is getting cray
 
And all these after apple released IOS13 soon Facebook will also be black.

Already available in the latest version 114.0.0.0.24, so far only for smartphones that have the dark theme option for any device like Samsung and Miui, just install this Instagram version and activate the dark smartphone theme

I also believe a good reason for this is using Dark Mode at night. Google maps navigation will turn on at night so it decreases glare when you drive.
It can also be quite annoying seeing a bright screen when it is dark out. That is just my personal opinion but I believe it helps a lot.
 
Wish they would add a more grey-ish color, pure black isn't so nice. Also darkmode is with a modded app since months available.

Sometimes white text on black looks better.
You might think blackhatworld dark theme is bad, check out their light theme then you'll appreciate how bad it can be.
 
This will be a nice hit for Instagram. Once you discover dark mode, there's no way to return. Simply the best mode to read and navigate. Good share, bro.
