Hi there,
I've been in touch with a guy selling a service to increase Instagram followers using some sort of automated tool, maybe a bot, I don't know.

With your top hashtags, this guy does a research of your niche, set some parameter and this tool start following the right audience, liking them and after a while, he set another parameter and this tool start to unfollow. He said it's totally safe etc....
Do you know this tool or something similar? He sells both the service and the bot/software, it's not expensive etc (100£)... I just want to know if it's a common practice and something you suggest using or if it's better to avoid.

Thanks for this. We do 1-3 on a regular basis for our company profile...we do it all for clients, but what do you think is a good strategy for an agency? I find it hard to market an agency; it's like market a lawyer or an accountant.... content has to be consistent with the company (= I cannot post things like cats etc...).

There's a number of these tools around in the affiliate marketing scene. I bet you could own one of them for less than 100 GBP, not just pay for a one time service. There is no trick, the tool follows others and after a given time frame unfollows them if they haven't followed back. You could of course easily do this by hand, too, but it's hard keeping track after some time.

I've been researching since today, those are the one that I found: which do you use? do you know these? Do you know better bot than these?

Yes it's called " Follow / Unfollow " strategy, You pick bigger accounts which is based on the same niche/category of your account and follow the followers of the bigger accounts in hope that they'll follow you. Later after you have reached certain amount of "Following" or crossed a few days you start the "Unfollowing" Process

You can do this by yourself using a bot , There are plenty in the Marketplace over here :)

Myself I don't use any, but here are some examples:
floodbot.netlify.com (for 8$ ;-), instaranker.com for 10 bucks

and I get it you're an agency, you might be interested in something a bit more powerful like:
instabuddy.host (but this is around 500)

but if we unfollowing other , the target will know ? will they unfollow us again ?

You Have To Wait For Certain Days Before Unfollowing ( Probably 1 Week To 10 Days ), In That Time Frame If They Like Your Content They Wont Unfollow You But If They Don't They Will , Which Is A Good Thing Too Since You No Longer Have People Who Aren't Interested In Your Content :)
