Instagram (extreme) shadowban - Case study

instagram machine learning track ip address. That’s why you should only run 2 or 3 accounts from one ip and not at the same time... then if you use a bot from one ip and you follow, you must not use that account from mobile phone... if you do it then you’re two ips are wrote and you can potentially be banned. After you are banned from an ip one time (for example you are not allowed to follow for one day) then you’re ip is on the radar and if you don’t stop automation at least for one month you’ll be shut down again and again... and it will always last more.

Jarvee told me this as one of their basic rules - once an account is on Jarvee, don't use it on a phone any more.

I'm a bit puzzled by this - if you use Instagram on a mobile phone, you have a different IP every time.

And when I use my never botted account in the city, I'm on a changing IP address, but when I'm at home it runs through my home Wifi, and the IP is always the same.

2 Weeks Update!

In last 2 weeks i didnt touched that accounts at all.

Today I checked all hashtags I was dominating and non of them had my posts reapeared.
I also checked if I am still shadowbaned from search. I am on all 3 accounts. Its the same, i type 4 out of 5 characters of my name and my accounts isnt showing. When i type full name, there is a bunch of totally different account names and then down at bottom is my account.

What will I try next:
  • Posting without hashtags for one week
  • Delete hashtags on as many posts as I can
  • After one week without hashtags I plan to try totally different set of hashtags which i never used and see what happened
  • Change my account from "normal" to business
  • Opening and liking ads. I heard it can increase your "IG score" because they like accounts which are making them money :)
I am still loosing followers as before but my engagement is still good. I added first post and it get 500 likes in first 10 minutes. I dont get this...

Wow, they are really punishing you hard with the new rules!

Any updates?

I think using the same hashtags over and over is also very dangerous.

Other accounts do it. They have absolutely No issues. I screenshot and looked. Zero issues.

Frankly I’m stumped. I don’t do follow unfollow or anything!!

If there are numbers on the hashtag field on post insights. Are you shadowbanned?

I’m actually really pissed off about this. There are no answers to it either.

My main account also got extreme shadowbanned. I tried everything in a period of 4 months a(not postingd, hashtags, actively posting, contacting support) to get out of it.

As of yesterday, I gave up. Created a new account and moving on.

Goodbye 17k organic followers

what the hell is going on! this is insane!

I came across one of the case study not a while ago where the user suffered a shadowban like this.

He immediately deactivated his account for a period of atleast 2 weeks. Took a break and then started posting slowly. He posted a content which was engaging.

Try to get as much engagement as you can in first 2 minutes. Believe me it'll help you a lot. And don't share your post link in DM Groups. IG tracks the visitor. If he comes from DM and Likes + Comment your post then move away everytime. It doesn't help your account.

The only way to come out of this shadowban is to increase engagement. Buying ads might help in increasing that.

How are you so certain? I can get engagement from my current followers. However that doesn’t guarantee coming out of this shadowban!!

If there was a 12 step that work sure I’d do it so would he. These posts are pure speculation. What bothers me is the fact that the OP and I both are not using any BH techniques. No folllowliker. No Jarvee. Just a shadowban out of nowhere and no response from Instagram support.

I had great engagement from my followers, averaging 1000-1500 likes with 10+ comments. I didn't help at all :(

I got the machine learning shadowban too. Couldn't follow any new accounts for about a month. Finally cleared this week and I'm going to re-enable my script at a much slower pace and following far fewer people.

As I sayd in previous posts, I dont have any problem with engagement my engagement was (and still is) pretty nuts but it doesnt help. Also 1 month break doesnt helped at all...

! UPDATE #3

I was doing my normal routine as before I get shadow ban. 1 photo every day with 30 hashtags with geo and name tag + 1 to 3 stories.

After couple of weeks of posting like this, I noticed that i started gaining little bit followers and stopped loosing them.
Now I am gaining about 20-50 a day. But it is still strange because I am still totaly hashtag and search banned on all 3 accounts.
I think I am somehow gaining new followers thru existing followers and big engagement? Is that possible?

Sumarry:
  • 2 weeks of posting only one story a day (no regular posts) - no change noticed
  • then 2 weeks without any posting - no change
  • then 1 week of posting without any hashtags - no change
  • after that: about 3-4 weeks of posting normaly (30x#, tags, stories, etc) - suddenly stopped loosing followers and started gaining a little, but shadow ban is still there for # and search too.
Let me know what you think about this, I dont understand nothing now :)

Shadowban over 3 weeks for me. Tried everything people suggest to try.

Not sure. I think there is a report bot

Anyone tried to buy lots of ads to get extra IG trust for the account? I'm not saying it works, because I have never met anyone who risked it.

IMHO Account is fried. You lost it. Start new

He could probably go out with a bang. Post affiliate links on all the pages, make all the posts promote affiliate sites of his, etc. If Instagram is going to screw you, might as well make some money on the exit game.

I've the same issue. Account is 1y2m old. Didn't use to schedule posts. I just posted at whatever time in the beginning.
Used some iMacros script to F/U. Never had any bans. Used the same 30 tags over and over. Had decent engagement. Around 100-150 new followers every day I used the script.
Couple of months back I stopped using the script because instead of following other people's followers it started following promoted/recommended accounts, so I ended up following like 500 accounts like Eminem, Rihana and all the Kardashians.
Around the same time a couple of my posts exploded. I'm talking 15k followers account having 23k likes on a post. After those couple of posts my engagement became catastrophic. Think 15.8k follower account having 75 likes in 9 hours. Somehow still managing to have +15 more followers on average per day.
What I've tried:
-Gave it a rest for several weeks;
-Unfollowed all the accounts;
-Stopped using hashtags all together;
-Posting consistently 1-3/day;
-Using "Canva" to edit photos to Instagram's post resolution.
-Switched to personal account;
-Unlinked Facebook.
-Currently deleting all hashtags on previous posts (slowly);
-Will delete all posts that might have the same md5 hash as the original (although I doubt that's the problem).

Following and looking forward to solving this problem if possible. Cheers
